It was something Isaac felt he could get used to. He didn't know why he had been avoiding it. He'd even glanced over at his bicep wondering why he never went through with getting a bad ass tattoo, but he wasn't here to impress himself.
He'd even left his phone in the locker room. She'd called a few times. Once as he was wrapping up class and another while he was on his way to the gym. He didn't want to think about her now, now he needed to get answers for Penny.
"So what happened?" Issac said as he placed the bar down and sat up at the end of the weight bench
Dorian just slicked his fingers through his buzz cut, "We can be honest right?"
Isaac nodded. They were friends. That question went without saying.
He blew out a breath, "I like her. She's great."
"So what's the problem?"
"The chemistry is intense, but I didn't expect to answer twenty questions about my medical history, and my future plans." She shook his head, "I mean, she was really serious about it." He sighed again, "I kind of just, haven't called her back."
Isaac blew out a disappointment sigh.
"I know." He said, "I mean, I get it. We rushed. I wanted it, she wanted it, but damn. I wasn't going to put the ring on her finger than and there."
Issac less sure that Dorian knew about Penny's inexperience, and it wasn't his secret to tell.
"Besides. I think you're the kind of guy she wants." He leaned his head toward him.
Isaac blew out a breath from his nose. He was going to defensively ask what he meant, but deep down he knew. He knew that Penny want him. He plaid it off. She was attractive, and maybe if he was just lonely and alone he might have ended up in the same situation as Dorian so he couldn't be mad, but now he didn't know what to do.
He decided to just take a step back, and hope they would work through things on their own.
"So what happened with you and your girl."
His chest started to ache more. "It didn't work out."
Dorian's eyes narrowed, "Dude, what happened?"
He didn't want to talk about it, but he felt he had to since Dorian had been so honest with him, "We just want different things."
"What to you mean?"
"I want a relationship, she wants sex."
"Wow!"
"I mean, it's like we picked the wrong girls."
