TUESDAY.Tuesday's weren't as bad but with Will Byers disappearing it seems as if every teen or young kid in town had a curfew to follow. No late-night sneaking out or even out on the streets. It was pretty dull but Daisy understood it had a reason.
"That's horrible," Frances stated as the two sisters stared at the missing kid poster. They could only imagine the panic and frenzy the Byers family must be going through, especially when Jonathan was still getting taunted.
"Mike seems pretty distracted by it," Daisy sighed, dragging Frances with her to the lockers. "What if the kid is actually hurt? There could be a chance that-"
"Don't think like that." Frances scolded her and picked out the English book to hand it over to the youngest Hugo. "You've gotta have hope they'll find him." Her eyes averted towards the group that stood watching Jonathan. "But they don't give a single shit."
Daisy hummed in question and looked around aimlessly, having to be guided by Frances to where Steve Harrington and his clique stood alongside Barb and Nancy. Carol caught her eye and smiled, the redhead walking over to the two girls.
Frances muttered, "I'm going to be late," and left Daisy all alone to deal with the judgmental girl.
"Dais, hey," Carol smiled and motioned her head over to the group, grabbing her lower arm to take her towards them. "Steve is having a party — just us, you should come."
Daisy began to shake her head. "I don't think so." She sucked in a breath, "I'd rather watch a boring sitcom than sit around with The Hair."
"That's real funny." Steve brushed his nose, glaring at Tommy who let out a chuckle at Daisy's words.
"Face it, everyone talks about it, Stevie." Daisy smiled. "Most prominent feature."
"Come on! Don't leave me alone." Carol pleaded, which earned her an 'Are you kidding me?' look from the latter.
"It'll be fun," Steve nodded. He raised his eyebrows when she scoffed. "What do you say?"
Daisy looked at the group, sending a small wave to Barb that seemed out of place, "Don't expect me to arrive — you'll never know."
"We'll expect you!" Carol shouted after her, watching as Daisy walked down the halls, not even sparing a glance at them when the bell rang.
"Whatever," Daisy said and made a beeline toward her first class.
Truth be told, she didn't like hanging out with Carol and her empty-headed boyfriend Tommy. They thought they were above everyone else in the school when in reality the more they opened their mouths, Daisy placed them in the lower line.
Carol felt that she had to agree on whatever Tommy H. said or did, almost like they had a string attached to each other, wherever he went she did. Basically, she would do whatever he asked her to. And Daisy thought that was low, even for someone as supposedly independent as Carol claimed she was.
