DAISY REALIZED SHE SHOULD'VE GONE WITH THE KIDS THE MOMENT SHE HEARD YELLING DOWNSTAIRS.Nancy and her mom were arguing about Barb and how Nancy had a feeling that something bad had happened to Barb.
"Just leave me alone!" Nancy yelled and slammed her bedroom door.
Daisy's eyes widened when she heard Mrs. Wheeler's usual footsteps stop outside of Mike's door, making her rush forward to slightly open it enough to let her body get out.
"He's still pretty upset," Daisy whispered and shut the door behind her. "I think we should just let him be, for now, he's going through a lot."
Mrs. Wheeler sighed, soaking up the girl's lies and motioning to her bedroom, "I'll be right back."
"It's okay, take your time." She responded, sending her a sympathetic smile, her eyes trained on the older woman walking into the empty master bedroom.
She had two options; stand around awkwardly or go check up on Nancy to make sure she was doing okay, and she chose the second without hesitation, her feet moving almost by themselves. She placed three soft knocks on the door and opened it slightly to reveal half of her face, being welcomed with a sigh as Nancy's back to her while she was sitting on her bed.
"Nance?" Daisy said and it was then that the girl turned around to look at who came in. Her eyes were watery and they were slowly turning red on the outer.
She sniffled and wiped her nose with a tissue, "Hey."
"Hey," Daisy replied, taking that as an invitation to walk further inside the room, gasping slightly when Nancy pulled her forward.
"Do you see something?" She whispered but in a frantic way that made Daisy's eyebrows furrowed with worry.
"What-"
"Just — please, do you see anything there?" Nancy handed her the picture that was now taped back together, one of the pictures that Jonathan had taken but it was of Barb sitting alone.
Her eyes squinted and pointed to something dark, "What the hell is that?" Daisy asked.
"That's what we've gotta figure out," Nancy answered.
They stared at each other, Daisy deciding to take another look at the picture which looked far more haunting than the first time she saw it, now fearing for Barb — wherever she was.
One thing Daisy had figured out about Nancy is that she was quick to make a plan, especially last minute but the latter didn't mind — in fact, she found it quite interesting. More interesting when she wasn't involved in the impulsive decision the girl in front of her did.
Daisy just wanted to go home and sleep it off, hoping to God that she would wake up and Will would be found — alive and well. But none of that would happen no matter how much she wished it would, she was stuck dealing with it.
And the Wheeler siblings were dragging her all into their theories without letting her get a peep out.
"Nancy.. are you sure? I mean, shouldn't we make sure it isn't our eyes just making out shapes from — from the trees." Daisy hurriedly picked out her words, stumbling over them in the process.
"We have to find out what happened to Barb. We have to find her." Nancy whispered. "Please."
Daisy looked out the window, the streets empty almost as if Hawkins was a ghost town this early in the day. Her gaze found itself slowly moving back over the picture of a lonely Barb - whatever it was behind was too dark to make out. But also too dark to be a person.
