DIFFERENT KINDS OF CANDY LITTERED THE BOTTOM OF THE KID'S BAGS.They all raced to get to the front door of the neighboring house, Erin coming in third place whilst Lucas beat all of them. The five of them knocked rapidly on the door with excited smiles plastered onto their faces.
It was obvious they were growing extremely impatient when they relied on the doorbell to hurry the owners up.
An older woman opened the door with a sweet smile, and a perfect bowl of candy filled up to the top was held in her hand. "Ooh! Well, aren't you cute? The little exterminators — wow!" Her eyes landed on Erin's outfit as the four boys looked at each other awkwardly, the incorrect name of their costumes lingering on. "You look absolutely gorgeous!"
"Thank you," Erin answered politely. They all reached into the bowl and grabbed handfuls of the candy within and quickly scattered off.
Erin's outfit had been getting the most attention tonight and it was difficult to tell if she enjoyed it or if it was beginning to get on her last string. But her wide smile said otherwise as they walked off the driveway of the house.
"If I get another three musketeers, I'm gonna kill myself," Lucas grumbled.
Dustin turned to him with furrowed eyebrows. "What's wrong with Three Musketeers?"
"Not even that good," Erin shook her head, looking down into her basket at the large amounts of three Musketeers suffocating the rest of her candy.
"No one likes Three Musketeers," Mike added on.
Will nodded. "Yeah, it's just nougat."
"Whoa. 'Just nougat'?" Dustin asked, his tone giving off every inch of shock.
"I don't think Will needs to repeat his statement — which is obviously extremely correct." Erin shrugged and ignored Dustin's look of disappointment.
"You too? Just nougat? It is top three for me."
"Top three!"
"Top three!" Dustin answered with confidence.
"Oh, God. Give me a break." Mike said in annoyance, walking next to Dustin as Erin strolled between Lucas and Will.
Dustin didn't care and continued on about his favorite candy... much to the despise of the four kids. "Seriously, I can just eat a whole bowl of nougat. Straight up."
"A straight-up psychopath-" Erin was cut off by a person in a Micheal Myers jumping in front of them, causing all five of the kids to scream in panic — more so Lucas squealing.
Lucas attempted to hide behind an equally terrified Erin, the two of the fighting for an escape. Her heart was beating erratically in her chest at the panic that coursed through her veins but what could she expect? It was Halloween after all. She sighed when the person behind the mask revealed themselves.
Max Mayfield chuckled. "Holy shit! You should have seen the look on your face. And you?" She turned to Lucas. "Who screams like that? You sound like a little girl."
"It.. it was Erin's scream matching up with mine," Lucas said awkwardly.
Erin snapped her neck towards him, faster than the speed of light as he turned to look at her shocked expression. "Oh, really?" She crossed her arms over her chest and let out another exhale, muttering under her breath. "That was really good."
The five of them attempted to catch their breath, tense looks scattered on each of their faces.
"Hey, you guys coming or not?" Max turned around when she noticed they weren't following her. "Oh, I heard we should hit up Loch Nora. That's where the rich people live, right?"
