Christine's mouth went dry as she rushed to the phone. She hoped to pick it up first and beg him to call back so she could talk to her mom first. She might not be happy with what they did but at least she won't want to cut off Parker's privates with an army knife.
She picked up the phone and said "Hello."
"I got it Christine." Her mother said.
"Um who is it?" Christine nervously asked. Please let it be Parker's dad.
"It's Mister Cole." Melinda said and a wave of relief of washed over her. Good, good she'll talk to him and not my dad. I just hope that he is not anywhere nearby. Hopefully he is doing what he does best sitting on his butt watching television. "Hang up please."
"Okay." She quickly hung up and then sat on the bed praying that she says nothing to her dad. Just talk to me about it she begged he does not need to know anything about it.
A knock was at the door. "Come in."
The door open and sour look crossed her face as her father walked in. Go away she thought.
"Your mother thinks I was insensitive to your feelings and that I should apologize." Calvin said.
"But you're not."
"No." He smirked. "Because as far as I am concerned I did nothing wrong."
"Of course you don't."
Calvin gave her an annoyed look. "Because I didn't."
"You threatened to bash Parker's head in with a baseball." Her eyes narrowed as she spoke.
"Only because I thought he did something to hurt you." Calvin said.
"But he didn't."
"And I'm not bashing his head in." Calvin shrugged. "But the moment he does something to hurt you and believe me he will I will take a baseball to his skull."
"What if I hurt him?" Christine asked. "Can his mom or dad take a baseball bat and bash my head in."
"Don't be stupid of course not."
Christine looked at him in disgust. "You're the one being stupid not me." She said under her breathe.
"Excuse me." A look of anger flickered in his eyes. "What did you say?"
"I said that wasn't fair." Christine said. "Its okay if you hurt him if I make mistake but his parents can't hurt me."
"I don't care if it is fair or not." Calvin said. "That's just the way it is." He then shrugged. "Mister Cole has daughters he would understand."
"So if Lael or Peter are hurt by their girlfriends will you bash Mandy's or Ellen's heads in."
He then smirked. "No." A thoughtful look crossed his face. "But I will certainly hand the bat to your mom so she could take care of them.
"You are such a hypocrite."
"In your eyes maybe." Calvin said as he sat on a chair at her desk.
"You could have shown some sympathy towards Parker." She said shooting invisible daggers at him.
"Why?" He gave a quizzical look. "Is it an just paddling?" Calvin asked. "Becauase he is being paddled for not taking the trash out or something trivial like that tell me and I will ask your mom to call his mother."
"Well isn't for something minor." She said. "But you would have just grounded Lael or Peter for doing the same."
If even she thought. He probably would have shared a beer with them.
