Christine had fled to her room after leaving the kitchen slamming the door as she went in. The sixteen year then jumped on her bed and stuck her ear pods in wanting to drown out those who was calling her name. She then closed her eyes pretending her mother, her brothers, and most of all her father did not exist.
As she lay in bed her mind drifted to Parker. She missed him so much. So many times during school she wanted to go to him. To hug and tell him how much she missed him.
But she didn't. According to Willow Lang a female prefect that would be a very bad idea. Much to her frustration Parker's father had contacted the perfects telling them that they were not to have communication with each. And if so they were to report to him.
And she knew what his father was going to do him if he did. She winced as she thought about him taking the belt to Parker again. She was sure he had already gotten a pretty bad beating for them making out in the hot tube together. She did not want to get him another.
Christine hated that he whipped him. Parker was a sweet person who did not deserve to have his butt beat.
I can think of two more deserving candidates who live here. They are truly the ones who deserve their backsides roasted.
I would be eternally grateful if he tanned their hides.
She then thought that it just wasn't what his father was going to do him. According to Willow Forest has been targeting Parker for awhile and is planning on caning him if he gets caught talking to her. And Willow believes its going to be a rather severe caning.
What a sadist she thought. She can't believe the school gave so much power to such an unhinged person.
I just hope Parker did not give him a reason.
"Christine!" Melinda shouted causing her to jump up in bed. Her mother was standing at the foot of her bed, her hands on her hips, and scowl across her.
"What!" Christine said pulling the ear pods out.
"I've been calling you." Melinda said.
"Well I didn't hear you." Christine said.
"Sure you didn't." Melinda gave her daughter an skeptical look.
"I didn't." Christine said. "What do you want?"
"I want you to call your father and apologize to him." Melinda said.
"For what?" Christine gave her a incredulous look.
"For being rude and disrespectful to him." Melinda said.
"Yeah right." Christine said.
"Don't yeah right me missy." Melinda said as her mouth formed into a snarl. "You are going to apologize to him."
"Like hell am I." Christine said.
Melinda's eyes widened. "Don't you talk to me like that missy." Melinda said. "I don't what has gotten into you lately but are not going to disrespect me you understand."
"Whatever."
"Keep pushing it Christine and see what happens." Nervousness rippled across her face. "Look I'm trying to get your father back here but that is not going to happen if you keep being a little witch to him. You may not miss him but your brother Brian does. His absence is killing him so please for your sake put any anger you have towards him to the side and apologize."
Christine was about to say something and Melinda put up her hand.
"Just do it."
"Fine." Christine grabbed her cell phone. "I'm doing this for you not him."
Melinda looked at her in exasperation. "I don't care as long as you just do it."
"Hello." Calvin said.
"Hi daddy." Christine said in a sweet tone. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry." She pushed her behind her ear as she spoke.
"I appreciate that honey..."
"I'm sorry that I have a jerk like you as a father." Christine shouted into the phone. She then hung up on him and gave her mother a triumphant smile.
"I can't believe you." Melinda said. "You are acting absolutely ridiculous."
"Well I am my father's daughter." Christine said.
"You are not funny." Melinda shook her head. "I told you not push it but you decided to test me and now you are going to pay the price."
"What are you going to do?" She said with a look of defiance. "Ground me."
"Yes."
"Big deal."
"You'll see just how much of a big deal it is in a few minutes.." Melinda said as she pulled out her phone.
"Who are you calling?" Christine asked
"You'll see." Melinda said. "Hello Rodger." The blood drained from Christine's face. "I just wanted to let you know that I've had some problems with Christine the past couple of days and unfortunately I think it would be best of she does not see or communicate with Parker for the next month."
"What!" Christine screamed. "You can't do that!"
Melinda put her hand up silencing her. "I'm sorry to do this Parker but Christine needs to spend some time thinking about how she treats people."
"Thank you for understanding." Melinda said.
Tears stung her eyes. "I can't believe you did that." She said her eyes boring through her mother. "You had no right."
"I had every right." Melinda said. "You are grounded for a month. No tv, no computer, no friends, no Parker. All you do is go to school and come home." She then eyed the cell phone in her hand. "No phone." Melinda put her hand out. "Give it to me."
Melinda handed her the phone and then said. "I hate you." She then fell on the bed onto her stomach, buried her face in her hands and began to wail.
Melinda walked out closing the door behind her. "She really should have stopped while she was ahead."
