About a month later Cassidy had her first appointment. She told the boys that it wouldn't be much, just a routine check kind of thing. Castiel insisted that they go so Dean packed up the Impala. He decided if they were going out, they might as well "go out".

"Where are we going after the appointment, Dean?" Castiel asked.

"You'll see," Dean replied, stuffing a cooler in the back seat. Dean gazed into the trunk, remembering its days as storage for his arsenal. It made him think back to the day he gave up hunting.

"Those were different times, Baby," he said to the car, pulling the trunk closed. "Ready to go, Cas?"

"Almost. Let me retrieve my phone." Castiel went into the house and came back out holding his cell phone. "I'm ready, Dean."

"Let's head out," Dean smacked the steering wheel and they drove into the streets.

The appointment was just as uneventful as Cassidy had made t up to be. They had trouble finding the baby at all because of how early into the pregnancy it was. The only reason they knew the baby was even in there was a tiny heartbeat nobody could really hear.

But Castiel, who had retained some of his angelic properties after all of his past events, could hear it perfectly and melted into one of the seats. "That's our baby, Dean," He whispered.

The woman controlling the machines took a few photographs using the sonogram. Everyone in the room stared intently at the monster displaying where the baby would be if it were a little bit bigger, trying to make out some body part in the mass of brownish blobs.

After the appointment, Castiel and Dean decided they would only go to the appointments where something important happened. Castiel asked the woman how long until they could tell the gender of the baby.

"Not for a little while longer, honey," she replied.

This disappointed Cas a little bit but Dean was excited to lift his spirits a little with his surprise trip.

Dean drove for about an hour before stopping on the edge of the woods. "Follow me," he said, his arms gripping a blanket full of something, running into the trees.

Castiel followed behind him, trench coat billowing behind him, snagging on branches and thorn bushes.

"Dean," he called. "How much farther?"

"Almost there," Dean's voice echoed through the dense forest.

Castiel sprinted up ahead, following the sound of his boyfriend's voice. He stepped into a clearing where Dean stood waiting, his arms spread as open as his smile.

Cas stepped towards Dean and realized they were in a small semi-circle, about fifty meters in diameter, ending at a cliff face.

They embraced and Castiel kissed Dean for a long time. They view was beautiful and Castiel couldn't believe his eyes when he looked over the ledge.

A crystal clear lake shimmered below, seemingly a reflection of Castiel's joy-filled eyes. The lake was fed by a wide river traveling past Cas's viewpoint.

Dean spread out the blanket where a red cooler and a black backpack rolled out into the emerald grass. Castiel hurried to Dean and they both sat on the blanket, Dean collecting the cooler and backpack.

They pulled a selection of different foods out of the cooler. Amazed, Castiel looked into Dean's green eyes and said, "This is...unbelievable, Dean. How did you find this?"

"My mom took me here once," he said, rubbing his neck. "When I was little. I came back whenever I was around the place."

"Thank you for sharing this with me." Castiel took a bite out of one of the sandwiches Dean had packed. When he finished chewing, he said, "These are amazing!"

That was when Dean pulled Cas into a kiss. Castiel kissed back and it turned into a beautiful make out session between the two lovers.

They both felt good seeing the other one happy. Dean rolled over Castiel and they both fell into the grass in a fit of laughter. "Take your coat off," Dean ordered, crawling towards the backpack.

"Um...here? Now?"

"Yeah," Dean said. He pulled his hand out of the bag and revealed two swimming trunks.
