Cas and Dean woke up together at seven. It was strange as Cas usually woke up at six-thirty and he usually had to wake Dean up at seven. "Good morning, Dean," Castiel rolled over to face his boyfriend.
"Mornin' Cas," Dean, still lying in the bed, stretched his arms up so that his knuckles knocked on the headboard behind him. "Hey," he said as Castiel sat up in the bed. "Are you going to make breakfast?"
"No, Dean," Castiel reached over to his nightstand and pulled his phone off of the charger. Dean watched as he scrolled through his e-mail. "I'm checking for messages."
"Oh. Do we have any replies?" Dean scooched closer to Cas and read over his shoulder.
"Not that I can see," Cas moved his thumb from the bottom to the top of the screen, scrolling through his messages.
"Oh..." Cas could sense the disappointment in Dean's voice and gave him a one-armed hug. Castiel got up and began dressing himself. Dean remained in the bed and pulled the blankets back over his shoulder.
"Dean, you should really be dressing for work; we slept in late as it is. I'll have some breakfast ready in a few minutes."
Dean ignored Castiel and pulled the blankets higher. Cas sighed and went downstairs to start making breakfast. He ended up practically dragging Dean out of bed so that he would go to work.
This went on for about a week and a half. The following Friday, Sam and Monica decided to visit Castiel and Dean for dinner. In preparation, Cas asked Dean to make a nice dinner for everyone. Dean, who was actually a pretty good cook, thought it would be nice to bond with Castiel.
When Sam and his girlfriend arrived, they all went to the kitchen table and ate the dinner Dean and Cas had made. Everybody was having a great time and Dean finally smiled for the first time since the night they found Cassidy.
"Y'know you what I realized?" Asked Monica.
"What?" Dean said, stuffing a large piece of chicken into his mouth.
"Well, you guys have been checking your e-mails for the response, right?"
"Yes," said Castiel.
"What if this Cassidy lady direct messaged you from the website?"
"What do you mean?" Dean looked over at Monica.
"Yeah," said Sam. "The website you found the surrogate mother on has a messaging feature where you can talk through the site to be a little more...private, I guess."
Both Castiel and Dean got up from the table and went to check their computers. Sam and Monica followed them into the living room to hear a loud "YES, DEAN! SHE SAID YES!" coming from Castiel.
Everyone crowded around the computer and saw the positive reply on the screen. Sam and Monica congratulated the other couple and suggested the leave.
"Yes," Cas said. "I believe that would be appropriate."
"Cas! Don't be rude," Dean apologized to his brother.
"No, dude, it's fine. We should get going anyway," Sam and Monica said goodbye and left the house.
Dean and Castiel read the message three times before speaking to each other.
"So we can meet her either tomorrow or next Wednesday? What do you think?" Cas said.
"I'd prefer tomorrow; we don't have work. Tell her we'll meet tomorrow. Let's go to that restaurant downtown. You know...um..."
"Tipper's?" Cas suggested.
"Yeah! Or if she prefers we can go somewhere more local for her. And see if she wants to do Sunday just in case."
Castiel began typing the message and asked Dean to proofread it when he finished. They sent the message to Cassidy and hugged each other. The two went to bed shortly after so that they were well rested for their meeting with Cassidy the next day.
They didn't even think about if Cassidy didn't get their message.
