(Gonna put some general timeline here)
Late April, Tuesday
Olivia's POV
Do you ever have those kinds of mornings where you lay in bed with your eyes closed, knowing that your alarm is about to ring in a few minutes without even checking the clock, and you desperately wish you could get even a few more minutes of rest? Yeah, today was one of those days.
I waited a moment before hearing a loud "Bzzzzzzzzzzz" next to my bed. I opened my eyes and slammed my alarm clock shut so that it accidentally fell off my nightstand. I sighed loudly but at least the "lovely" buzzing sound waking me up every morning stopped. I looked at the ceiling for a second while stretching my arms to wake my body from the few hours of sleep that I got. Recently I have been staying up late finishing homework and extra credit projects, which has resulted in me only getting a max of 4-5 hours of sleep.
I got out of bed and swung my arms around in circles a bit to get my body awake and moving. I quickly walked to my bathroom to splash some cold water on my face and brushed my teeth before I grabbed workout clothes from my closet across my bed and headed downstairs to go for a run. Due to playing soccer, I want to stay as fit as possible so that I could be the best that I can be, hence why I usually run a couple of times a week. Sometimes my mom comes with me, which is something we bond over. She and I both love sports and I am very grateful that she is able to help me when it comes to soccer or running.
Walking towards the front door I noticed that the kitchen and the living room were empty so I figure that neither of my moms was awake yet. Sometimes their work schedules are crazy, and I'm not even sure are they at home or at work but for a while, both of them have been having pretty normal shifts, where they leave to work in the morning and come home before dinnertime, which I appreciate because sometimes it can be a few days where I don't even get a glimpse of one of my parents because when they get home I am already sleeping or when I leave to school they are already at work or asleep. So this has been nice.
I put on my running shoes and walk out the door, checking the apple watch on my left wrist before taking the first few steps and start running. Typically in the mornings I only do around 3-5 miles, just because I don't want to wake up any earlier so that I could get in a longer run.
Around 40 minutes later I sprinted back to the house, opened the front door, put my shoes away and climbed back to my room to hop into the shower. After drying my hair and putting on some light makeup, I walked to my closet to face the never-ending struggle of what to wear. I decided to put on some blue skinny jeans, a white T-shirt and a mustard-yellow cardigan. I stared at myself from the mirror next to my bed, scanning my body from my toes up to my head, looking at every single fault and thing that in my opinion needs fixing. I felt huge. I was always told that I was skinny, I mean yeah I was an athlete but I just didn't see what everyone else saw. To me, what I saw in the mirror wasn't enough.
I looked at my wrist to see the time, it being 8.15 am, I took my backpack from the floor and walked downstairs to see both of my moms in the kitchen, sipping coffee and talking to each other.
"Morning moms", I greeted before sitting down at the kitchen island, already almost dozing off from the fact that I was so tired from last night.
"Hi honey, how did you sleep?", my mom asked kissing my head while she walked to the refrigerator to grab some things.
"It was fine", I mumbled, trying to sound convincing, but knowing that both of my moms could read me like paper, I was hoping they would just drop it.
"Bambina I made you breakfast", mama said while she placed a plateful of french toast and fruit in front of me.
Oh no, I really don't wanna do this right now. Skipping breakfast has been so easy since my moms were always working. I looked down at the plate, really hoping that it would just disappear from the power of my thoughts, but there it still was. A plateful of food I didn't want to touch.
"Sorry mama I'm not really hungry this morning", I tried to tell her, sounding as innocent as possible.
"But you went on a run this morning, so you need to eat", my mom said sternly, not ready to argue about the importance of eating after a workout.
"And you love my french toast", mama said, smiling while pushing the plate closer to me.
"But moms", I tried
"No buts Liv, you need the energy, you still have soccer today, so please eat it", mom said, dropping the conversation while walking back to the fridge, not giving me an opportunity to argue back.
"Ugh fine", I mumbled, taking a fork and starting to eat the food my mama made for me, trying not to think about it too much.
20 minutes later I put the dishes in the washer, took my backpack and soccer bag from the floor and joined my mama who was waiting for me next to her car, so she could take me to school while she went to work. My mom already left a couple of minutes earlier so I went with mama. The drive to school isn't long, only around 5 minutes but my parents still like to give me a ride if they are leaving at the same time. I was zoning out while we pulled to the school, and after a few minutes of being parked there, my mama turned to me.
"Bella are you okay?", she asked, as I was not getting out of the car.
I quickly fell out of my trance, realized we were at school, and started gathering my things.
"Oh yeah sorry I'm good, just didn't realize we were already here", I quietly told her.
"Mom is going to pick you up from soccer okay, have a nice day and practice, ti voglio bene!", my mama says as I close the car door and start walking towards the entrance.
A/N: Hopefully you liked the first chapter, it was kinda blah, just trying to get the story started. Also, if you already haven't noticed from my writing, English is not my first language (it's actually my 3rd language lol), so sorry for any mistakes! And if you have any ideas, comment below!
