Olivia's POV

My school days are quite short, typically from 9 am to 2 pm. Then I have soccer from 3-4.30 pm three times a week, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. My number in soccer is 7, which is my lucky number. Currently, I take English, human bio, music, creative writing, European history and health science. I have 3 classes per day, meaning today I had English, biology and music. I love all my subjects so I have no complaints.

I walked to my first class and smiled instantly when I saw my best friends already in their seats. Zola, Sofia and I have been friends forever. Our parents are close friends due to them working at the same hospital, which quite naturally led us to be friends. They both also play soccer on the same team, so we get to hang out quite a bit. They also understand the crazy schedules of our parent's work, so it's nice to know someone knows how you feel when it feels like your parents are only working 24/7.

Class is over sooner than I realized, and on autopilot mode, I started to walk to my next class, of course, Zola and Sofia by my side.

Human biology is so interesting to me. I don't know if it is my mom being a doctor and seeing her work or what, but this class never gets to bore me. The days in school usually go over the same pattern. Returning homework and extra credit, me, Zola & Sofia being pretty much the only people who raise their hands in class to answer questions, being praised by teachers on how good my grades are and how easy it's going to be for me to get into any college I want, going to soccer practice and trying to push myself to be the best player I can be etc. It's not that I hate it, don't get me wrong, I like the way I'm wired. That's what's gonna get me into a good school, that's what makes me who I am. It's just...Once you start overachieving, people expect things from you. Teachers, friends, parents, the world. I just don't want to let anyone down. I would hate to let my moms down.

My second class is almost over, and our teacher is just handing out the quizzes we had last week back. I'm zoning out, staring at my desk until my teacher walks by me, putting the paper with an A+ on it, continuing to walk around the room giving tests back. I smile quickly, shove the paper into my bag, get up and walk to lunch with my friends.

At lunch while eating, we almost every day start already doing the homework that we get from our first classes since we have soccer after school and none of us wants to stay up later than we already need to, doing the rest of the work. Zola and Sofia immediately opened up their bags to take out their lunches and started eating, while I only took my binder, to start working on the reading we had to do for next week's English class.

"Did you forget your lunch again Liv?", Zola asked while holding a sandwich in one hand and a pen in the other.

"Uhmm no I didn't I just ate a really big breakfast so I'm not too hungry right now. Mama made french toast so I'm stuffed", I told the girls, while giving an innocent smile.

That answer seemed to satisfy the girls even though they weren't happy about their friend not eating again. The group kept on doing their assignments, trying to use up every extra minute they had to do their work before their next classes, which would lead the girls in their separate ways since each of them had a different class at the end of the day.

The bell rang about 20 minutes later, the girls gathered their bags and started walking to different parts of the school building. Olivia walked a while before getting into the music room, where she would be for the next hour and a half, doing another thing she really enjoyed, playing instruments. Her other parent Carina taught Olivia how to play the guitar and the piano when she was younger and she absolutely loves it.

She felt happy that the elective classes were at the end of the day when her brain was already kinda tired and ready to not do anything productive. Plus, her teacher was super nice and excited about the fact that there was at least one student in her class who even had some sense of musicality in her body, which is why she often also let Olivia do whatever she wanted during those hours. She figured out that there was no point in her sitting down and listening to the teacher talking about basic music theory that she already knew, unlike the other students in her class. So oftentimes Olivia took a guitar from the corner of the room and went to the other side of the classroom, where they had small soundproof cubicles. She closed the door behind her, sat on the couch inside the small space and started to play, while daydreaming about anything and everything.

Olivia's POV

I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard my teacher knocking on the door, signalling that the class was over. I smiled at her, picked up the guitar and walked out of the small room back to an empty classroom.

"Did you have a good jamming session?", my teacher Ms Blanchard asked me while smiling.

"Yeah, I had a lot of fun", I answered smiling back.

I walked out of the room and navigated towards the locker rooms to get ready for soccer practice. I met Zola and Sofia plus some other teammates of mine when entering the room. We still had around 45 minutes before practice, so people usually took this time to either stretch and warm up, do their homework or eat a snack. I decided to finish my English homework that was still left from lunch and after quickly do some extra workouts as the breakfast from this morning still was haunting me. As the clock was getting closer to 4 pm, I put on my cleats and shin guards, pulled my long socks over them and grabbed my soccer bag to put on the sidelines of the grass field.

Practice went okay, however, I have been noticing the lack of energy I've had due to not eating normally anymore. And the weird thing is that it doesn't really bother me. I just have to push myself harder. Just gotta keep eyes forward. Plus I have also been seeing the perks, I feel lighter and faster when running, and there's this euphoric feeling that feels like I can do anything. In the end, I do feel a little bit dizzy, but drinking water usually helps a bit. I just try to shake it off.

When the clock hit 4.30, I said bye to my friends, took my bag and walked towards the parking lot where I saw my mom's car waiting.

"Hi honey, how was practice?", Maya asks me as I enter the car.

"It was good, dealing with some shin splints right now BUT we did some running today and I was the fastest out of my team", I told her proudly while taking sips from my giant water bottle.

"That's amazing Liv, but remember not to push yourself too hard", she said while driving and keeping her eyes on the road.

After a few minutes, we arrived back at our house. My mom helped me and grabbed my book bag while I took the soccer bag out of the car, and walked inside. I saw mama in the kitchen, from the smell of it I assumed preparing dinner. I said hi to her as I walked toward the stairs to go to my room to shower. Meanwhile, Maya walked up to Carina, put her arms around her wife and kissed her on the cheek, them being happy to see each other.

"Bambina dinner's ready in 15", my mama shouted so I could hear it.

"Okay, thanks", I shouted back.

I groaned as I knew that I'd have to eat dinner with them. Something my parents were pretty strict about was family dinner time. If we were all home together at the same time during dinnertime, we'd eat together, which didn't happen too often. Well not until recently when mom's and mama's work shifts changed a little. I mean I had already burned off the calories from this morning's breakfast, but still, the thought of eating a full meal made me very anxious. I was just tired and didn't wanna do it. But thinking about this also made me kinda realize, how quickly this has gone downhill, however, I had no intentions to stop. Not yet.

I took off my clothes and hopped into the shower, hoping that my parents would forget that I am home and not force me to eat dinner with them.
