No one's POV
It was a couple of weeks later, and Olivia woke up with excitement in her heart. Today was the day her soccer season would start, and she couldn't wait to hit the field with her teammates. The others have already had a couple of practices, but Olivia was still discussing it with her moms and doctors. But today, she would join her team. She and her moms discussed it a lot and she also talked about it in therapy. They also got Arizona's blessing that she could slowly start soccer again, with the only rule that she shouldn't push herself too hard, and to keep up the food intake.
Olivia quickly got ready for the day and headed downstairs, where her moms already had prepared breakfast for her. She sat down in her seat, looking at the big portion of oatmeal and smoothie next to it. She sighed but started eating it nonetheless. After drinking the smoothie and eating about half of the oatmeal, she looked up at her moms.
"I'm stuffed, is this okay?", she asked.
Maya and Carina looked at each other before speaking.
"You sure you don't want any more?", Maya asked.
"No, mom please, I already feel full", the girl replied.
"Okay, it's fine, you don't have to finish the rest. We did put quite a bit of the oatmeal", Maya answered.
"Are you excited about soccer today bambina?", her other mom asked, while taking sips of her precious espresso. The girl's moms knew how hard it had been for Olivia to take a break from soccer, and they were happy that she could finally go back. They really hoped there wouldn't be any stepbacks.
"Yeah, I think so", Olivia replied, with a small smile.
To be fully honest, the girl had waited for this for months. She was very eager to put her cleats on and go to practice. But she used to be in very good shape, and now she hadn't worked out properly in several months. She knew that the coach was aware of her situation and had a very open dialogue with her moms, and he wasn't expecting Olivia to be in the same shape as she used to be, but it still pressured the girl. She wondered if she would be as good before as she used to be. What if she would get tired super easily? That would feel embarrassing.
"I gotta go now, I'll see you after practice", the girl said as she got up and went to tie her shoes, placed her pack bag over her shoulders and got out the door with her soccer bag in the other hand.
"Mama will pick you up from practice", she heard mom yell from inside the house until the door shut close and the girl was fully in the warm autumn air.
After the short walk, Olivia arrived at Seattle-Grace high school and went towards her locker. She noticed Micah walking towards her. She had seen him a couple of times outside of school now, but she didn't know what to think about him.
"Hey, Olivia, good luck on your first practice of the season today", Micah said with a smile, giving the girl a high five.
"Thanks, Micah. I'm so pumped", Olivia replied with a grin.
As they parted ways, Olivia's mind couldn't help but drift to thoughts of Micah. She wasn't sure if she had a crush on him, because also it felt like they were becoming good friends. For now, she was okay with just seeing him around and talking to him when they crossed paths.
The day went slowly, as Olivia was eagerly waiting for her practice at the end of the day. Finally, after long hours of classes, the bell rang, and it was time for her to head to the soccer field. As she laced up her cleats and put on her practice wear, she felt a sense of pride and determination. She was ready to take on the field and show her opponents what she was made of.
