No one's POV
Olivia's summer vacation had finally begun, and she was more than excited about it. They planned a trip to Italy and Olivia's 16th birthday was coming up. Even though the girl's parents trusted their daughter enough to stay home alone when they were at work, the girl still often preferred to go to the station or the hospital, just to have some company.
Olivia's POV
I wanted to go to the station today since I didn't want to stay home alone. Luckily there you always had company, and I missed my uncles and aunties. The downside of that though was that I had to wake up early, but I could always keep sleeping in my mom's bunk once we got there.
"Olivia we gotta leave in 30 minutes and you still gotta eat breakfast", I heard my mom shout so I could hear. I had just rolled out of bed, trying to focus enough to even think of what day it is.
"Okay!", I yelled back, while quickly getting ready.
I wore some black jeans and a navy blue station 19 hoodie. It was hot outside but I did not feel comfortable in shorts yet, and the hoodie was for obvious reasons.
In the kitchen, my mom was making one of her usual green protein smoothies that she would drink throughout her first hour at the station. I sat on my seat and took bites from the toasted bagel my mom had made for me.
As I was on autopilot mode, chewing the bites from my bagel half asleep, I woke up to the sound of my mom gathering her things.
"Okay Olivia, we gotta get going", mom said while rushing out the door into the warm Seattle summer air.
At the Station
"Heyy it's mini Bishop", people cheered as I entered the beanery.
"How are you surviving in a hoodie and jeans, I'm dying here", Travis said overdramatically, holding an ice pack on his forehead.
"Dude it's not that hot in here", I laughed. These people run into burning houses every day but still can't handle a little summer heat.
"Where's Vic?", I asked.
"Desk duty", Theo replied.
"Cool thanks", I spoke as I made my way downstairs.
"Hi aunt Vic", I smiled as I walked towards the front desk.
"Hey, there's my favourite Bishop! Don't tell your mom I said that", she laughed, standing up and pulling me for a hug.
"It's great to be the favourite. And don't worry, she knows", I chuckled, wrapping my arms around her waist and putting my head on her chest.
We sat there for a while, talking about everything since there weren't a lot of phone calls or people coming in.
As I was about to open my mouth the klaxon rang and everyone from A-shift ran towards the engines. As Andy was passing by she looked at me and scrunched her eyebrows.
"Olivia aren't you hot? You should probably change into a T-shirt", she yelled as she passed us before climbing onto the truck.
"Thanks, tia but I'm good", I quickly yelled back.
"Are you sure you're not hot? It's very warm today", Vic said while she was fanning herself with her hand.
"At least let's roll up your sleeves a little bit", she added while taking a hold of my wrist, in an attempt to pull up my sleeves.
