Olivia's POV
The next morning I woke up at 7 am, hearing the annoying buzz next to my bed. I turned the alarm off and scrolled through some social media. I didn't go on for a run but still did some situps in my bedroom since I didn't have soccer because it was Wednesday. I was already fantasizing about tomorrow. First of all, there's soccer practice, plus it will be the last school day before a long weekend since due to a holiday we are getting the Friday off from school.
I was having an off-day. I don't know why, everything just felt annoying and I was still mad at myself for letting my parents see I don't eat lunch at school. I felt stressed about needing to step up my game, trying to lie to them that I was eating more than I actually was. I don't know if the fact that I started to feel dizzy from the minute I woke up was going to make that any easier.
Still in my pyjamas, I walked downstairs to fill my water bottle and as I looked inside the fridge, there was my lunch box with a note on it. "Make sure you eat lunch this time. And come by the station after school - Mom", the note said. Apparently, both of my moms were already at work. I took the box out of the fridge and emptied it into the trashcan, covering it with a napkin. I shrugged and walked back upstairs after filling my bottle.
As I had about an hour left anymore before I had to head to school, I did my makeup and put on some clothes. I put on black jeans and a cropped hoodie. I checked I had everything in my backpack, put on some white converse, and headed out the door.
The walk to school was quick and only took around 10 minutes. The school day went quickly. However, it definitely was an off-day, since I got a C on my European history test. I have never gotten a C, I have gotten like one B during my entire life, but never a C. This is not me, I have no idea what happened with that. Luckily it will not drag down my average too badly.
At lunch, I again sat with Zola and Sofia. Like always, they multitasked and ate as they were doing their work, whereas I just sat there zoned out, not feeling like doing school, but trying desperately to come up with something for my creative writing homework. I just didn't have any energy today.
After school, I walked around 5 minutes to Station 19. I opened the door and saw my aunt Andy sitting at the front desk. As she saw me she jumped out of the chair and opened her arms for me.
"Hiiii mija, how are you?", she asked smiling wide while I hugged her back.
For a minute I didn't answer her back, I just stood there in her arms embracing the hug, soaking in all the warmth and comfort when she opened her mouth again.
"Liv, you good?", she asked as she looked down at me, me still clinging onto her.
"Oh yeah, I'm fine. Well... I got a C on my test, so I'm not good. My moms are gonna kill me", I told Andy as I just now started to detach myself from her body.
"Well...Your mom is still out on a call right now so at least you are not murdered right at this second", she laughed as she was leading me down to the beanery.
"But no, seriously Liv, one C isn't gonna end you. Your moms will understand", she said trying to make me feel better. Which it didn't but I still replied with a smile.
Andy's POV
As Olivia was hugging me for several minutes, I couldn't help but think about her size. Was she getting smaller? Because there's no way I'm growing taller. While she was clinging to me, I could feel her ribs while hugging her back. I looked at her eyes, the spark that she got from her mom, that would make her blue eyes pop even brighter was gone. Her eyes looked tired, empty.
"Do you want any food honey?", I asked Olivia as she sat down, taking out her binders and homework.
"Nah I'm good, thanks Andy", she answered and started working on her assignments.
I still went to the fridge and got out some juice, poured some into a cup and placed it in front of Olivia. She looked at me and smiled, took a sip and went back to work.
No one's POV
Meanwhile, the rest of the group got back from a call and started to show up in the beanery. There was Travis, Ben, Jack, Dean, Emmet, Vic, and lastly Maya came through the doors.
"OMG Olivia, there's my favourite Bishop", Vic screamed as she ran and hugged her favourite mini Bishop.
"Hi aunt Vic", Olivia chuckled as she was squished by her mom's co-workers.
The rest of the team quickly said hi to Olivia and went on to take a shower since they all smelled like smoke. Maya, being the captain and wasn't needed inside the house full of fire today stayed behind, being happy to see her daughter at the station.
"How was school Liv?", Maya asked her daughter, who was now fully concentrated on her work and didn't seem to hear her mother trying to talk to her.
"Liv?", Maya said again.
After a few seconds Olivia felt a hand on her shoulder, she jumped a bit and saw Andy standing next to her, trying to get her attention.
"Oh I'm sorry, what did you say?", Olivia said, now realizing her mom was also in the room.
"I was just asking how school was", Maya said, now raising an eyebrow.
"Ummm. It was fine", Olivia answered back, looking nervously at Andy who knew about the C the girl got from her test.
"Mija just tell her, she won't be mad", Andy said looking at Olivia.
"Tell me what?", Maya asked now confused, looking at her daughter and Andy.
"Ughhh fine. I got a C on my history test, I'm so sorry mom I don't know what happened I'm sorry", Olivia said quickly, already preparing herself for the lecture she was going to get.
"Olivia Hazel, how could you possibly get a C??", Maya asked her daughter, trying not to sound too mad.
"I don't know mom I just forgot the test so I didn't study for it, I'm sorry", Olivia answered looking down at the table, trying to physically lean onto Andy for some silent moral support, while the woman rubbed her back, comforting the teen.
Maya looked at her daughter for a while and sighed.
"Fine, but this better not happen again, you've always been an amazing student Liv, I don't wanna see grades like that again", the girl's mother said.
Olivia's POV
I am very glad my mother didn't yell at me for the grade I got. Probably because this was a first. She knows I can bounce back up from that and this was a one-time thing. But I hated letting her down. I need to do better. I need to be better.
"Did you eat your lunch", my mom asked me while I was putting away my homework.
"Yeah I did", I answered back. Knowing that this time the lunch box was actually empty, not by me eating it but you know...
"Good. Now let's go home sunshine", she said and put her hand on my shoulder as we walked out of the beanery.
