Since (because of my content) there's an 80% chance that you've already forgotten, I will now show you very specific stuff so that you may recall that I am - in fact - German :)

Most people in this fandom really fixate on their own country, I do not, I don't blame you in case you weren't aware that I'm German, but oh well, here we are  ._.

So, if you know anything about German States or cities or stereotypical American food, you might be familiar with the name Hamburg- which is the city I have decided to dedicate this chapter to, because I was recently on a school trip there and it was pretty swag B))))

Now, for all of you are confused, aswell as the people that actually read these rants underneath my art (you are highly appreciated btw, all of you <3), let me give you some information about Hamburg:

Nowadays Hamburg is not only the second largest city in the country (beaten only by Berlin), but it's also its own state, one of the three city states in Germany. Hamburg has a long history of being atleast somewhat independent, of course in the context of almost always being part of a greater power, like the Holy Roman Empire or later Prussia and the German Empire, but it was always in a special place and kept large parts of its sovereignty.
It's also noteworthy that Hamburg is a proud member of the Hanseatic League, a group of several cities all over Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia (Kaliningrad), Estonia and Latvia, all close to the sea, that formed a trading confederation of merchant guilds. The League was formed in the 12th century and existed (although its actual disbanding date can be debated) until 1669, but many of the old members still refer to themselves as Hanseatic- they are very proud of it :D

St. Pauli however used to be its own town for a while, despite always being close to Hamburg, not only location wise, but also economically and culturally. It was offically added as part of the city in the 19th century as one of Hamburg's boroughs and has been in that position ever since.
St. Pauli additionally has always been regarded as the filth within, or prior to the formal integration into the city, outside of Hamburg, and Hamburg has always put everything that was necessary for itself, but not wanted in close inside itself into St. Pauli. Especially when it came to work, everything that took up a lot of space, was ugly to look at, or smelled badly, everything was put outside the city walls. The same counts for the workers, especially when it came to religion: Hamburg was VERY protestant, to the point were all other religious practices were forbidden in the city. So all these people that still worked in Hamburg but couldn't follow their beliefs there, build their places of worship and their graveyards in St. Pauli, so basically, St. Pauli has always been the place were the unwanted came together- making the place very multicultural.
It even had its own Chinatown for well over 200 years, until the Nazis "cleansed" the entire borough in their attempt of making Hamburg their own Coastal Megacity, the epitome of a German New York (whilst completely ignoring the fact that Hamburg isn't even on the coast, but at a river).
Oh, and St. Pauli is also well known for its standard of prostitution, which was incredibly rare, atleast the fact that it wasn't outlawed was until the 70s unheard of, not only in Germany, but the whole world. So it's really not surprising that buisness boomed when it came to tourism :)

I could go on, but I think I've ranted enough now-
