She's serious. I can see it in her eyes.
I sigh and sit on the edge of the tub, rolling up my sleeves. "You know, most people drink to forget. But you? You go straight for the fuck-me-into-amnesia route."
She glares, but it lacks real fire. Her body's exhausted, but her mind's spiraling.
"I wasn't joking," she mutters.
I tilt her chin up, forcing her to look at me. "Neither was I."
Her lips part slightly, but she stays silent.
This isn't about wanting me. This is about erasing him.
I run my fingers over her collarbone, trailing down to the simadi Sukuna redrew on her body. The bruising is already fading. His mark is gone, but he still got under her skin.
That pisses me off more than I care to admit.
"Listen, idiot," I say, resting my forehead against hers. "You're not forgetting anything tonight. Not him. Not me."
Her brows furrow, confused. "Why—"
"Because if I touch you now, it'll be him in your head, not me."
I lean in, my breath brushing against her lips.
"And I don't share."
Her breathing hitches. The tension between us is thick—dangerous—but I pull back, pressing a kiss to her temple instead.
She exhales, long and shaky.
She's frustrated. I can feel it. But she doesn't fight me.
Good.
I reach for a towel. "Now, let's get you out before you drown. Can't have you dying right after I promised to keep you alive."
I lift her from the water, ignoring her yelp as I wrap the towel around her. She's still weak, still processing, but I can feel her grounding herself again.
That's enough for now.
I carry her to bed, tucking her in before sliding in next to her. She hesitates, then buries her face in my chest.
Her grip on my shirt tightens.
I run my fingers through her hair. "Sleep, y/n."
She doesn't answer. But the way her body finally relaxes against mine?
That's all I need.
"I can't stop thinking about him." She declared.
I watched as she crawled closer, laying her body on mine and resting her face on my chest. She took my arms and wrapped them around her, pulling me into a hug.
"At this rate, l'll make you forget about everything," I teased. Her index finger tapped rhythmically on my chest.
Was she teasing me now?
Smut
"Your heartbeat calms me down," she murmured. Was I some kind of drug to her?
No one had ever complimented my heartbeat before, and her words stirred something deep within me. She felt it too but didn't move, her face flushed as she raised her head to look at me.
"This is what happens when you say cute things," I said, tucking her wet hair behind her ear to see her face clearly.
"C-can I touch it?" she asked, her voice trembling. Was she serious? I never expected her to ask something like that. I touched her forehead and neck-she was cold but warming up. How could I refuse such a request? But then doubt crept in. What if this was some trick? What if Sukuna had ordered her to chop it off!
