"Is that a joke?"

Her eyes, cold and unwavering, told me it wasn't. Silence thickened between us, pressing down like an unbearable weight. She was waiting. Expecting me to do it. But I have a heart, you know.

"So you wanted me to be your first and last time."

She nodded. No hesitation. No second-guessing. "I''m flattered." I admit.

It was because of Sukuna, obviously. The bastard had carved his mark into her in ways I couldn't undo. I sighed, running a hand through my hair. This was bad—dangerous even. But come on, girl. You're so much stronger than you think.

"What if I said no?" I asked, my fingers tracing the golden lines of her simadi, redrawing them like Sukuna had. Not to claim her—but to challenge her.

"I will go. Far away."

Cowardly. I hated that side of her. Running was easy. But being trapped under the devil's control? That was miserable.

"You think distance will fix this?" I smirked, tilting her chin up with two fingers. "Even in hell, I'd find you."

She stiffened. Good. She needed to understand—there was no escaping me.

"Besides, we had a deal, remember? Your deal." I leaned in, my voice dropping as I reminded her, "From the day you awakened."

Author's POV

Despite the spacious bed, they remained close, eyes locked without pause. Both were lost in the same memory—their first meeting, the day he had promised to kill her if she ever broke their deal.

Y/n smiled, satisfied that he had remembered. Gojo, already anticipating her next words, let out a quiet sigh.

"What if he orders me to kill someone? One of your students, for example."

He had expected her to insist on her own death, much like she had before. Instead, she was worrying about others, which made him flick her forehead just to see her inevitable pout.

"My students are strong, just like their teacher! And his orders aren't absolute~"

Her grip tightened on his shoulders, eyes searching his with newfound intensity.

"There's still hope!?"

She pressed her hands against his chest, as if waiting for him to give her a solid answer. His hands slid to her waist, squeezing lightly as he grinned.

"Of course! Could you imagine a disease without a cure? A war without an end?"

Her excitement was contagious, making his grin widen.

"The answer is no! There's always hope and a way out. So let's cheer up!"

His words lit a spark in her eyes. For a brief moment, she let herself imagine a bright future at Tokyo Jujutsu Tech, where she wasn't just someone's pawn, but someone with a purpose.

"How!?"

Gojo chuckled, amused by her childlike enthusiasm. He reached out to ruffle her hair.

"I dunno."

Her radiant smile instantly faded. Her stare sharpened, and the excitement was gone, replaced with cold neutrality.

"Let's find out, yay!"

A punch aimed at his stomach—blocked with ease.

At that moment, she gave up. Not just on him, but on herself, for believing a man like him would have all the answers.

Gojo responded with a tight embrace, whispering "It'll be fine." His lips met hers, slow and deep, coaxing her back from the edge of despair. She let her eyes slip shut, lulled into rest by his warmth.
