You slowly open your eyes. The first thing that you notice is the color black. In fact, that's all you can see. You try to reposition your body only to realise that you can't move, as if you were paralysed, and for some reason, you feel like you're floating. You look around trying to see if there was a way out of the darkness. Sadly, You don't see anything. But despite your current situation, you remain strangely calm. You sigh softly. This place felt familiar to you but you don't recall ever seeing a place such as this. In fact, you don't remember anything. Where were you before coming here? What was your name? What happened to you? Were you dead? Was there anyone looking for you? Just how long have you been here? It felt like seconds but at the same time, you feel like you've been here for years.

'No point in worrying about it now. It's not like I can leave this place.' you think. Besides, you felt comfortable. Like you belonged here. Like this was your true home. You close your eyes and wait there for what felt like minutes but it also felt like an eternity.

"Hello, little one." You heard a voice talk. You are not surprised by this voice. In fact, it was like you were waiting for this person. You open your eyes and look around for the person who talked. There was a monster standing to you left. He looked familiar but you don't remember him. "How did a small human, like yourself, end up in the void?" He asks. You notice that he's speaking in a weird language yet somehow you understand him. You don't make an effort to talk back. You simply stare at the strange man. You don't understand why you won't talk just that you couldn't. He sighs as if already knowing that you're not going to speak. "My name is Gaster." He introduced, "I've been watching you for quite some time." You look up at the monster, now known as Gaster. Did he know you from somewhere? Whatever it was, you couldn't bring yourself to care. All you wanted to do was sleep.

As if knowing what you were thinking, Gaster starts to talk again. "The void does make you tired but if you go to sleep now, you're probably never going to wake up again." You look up at him in confusion. "There has never been a human who survived in the void for more than a few minutes but for some reason you survived for week," He says as he gets closer to you. "And there's no way of know what the void did or will do to you." You stare at him, now wide awake. Everything that he had said was surprising but what startled you the most was that you had been here for a week. You wonder how he could tell time in a place like this but you decide not to question it. 'How did he know that I was tired?' You think. Gaster chuckles lightly.

"I am apart of the void, I know everything that goes on here," he explains. You immediately realize that he is listen to you thoughts. It makes you feel uncomfortable to say the least. You weren't used to people entering your mind. You decide that if your going to be stuck here might as well get some answers. 'How did I get here?'. He seems to hesitate a bit before he started explaining.

"To put it simply, you are dying in a way that the... codes... don't know what to do. So, your mind is trapped here until you either miraculously survive and wake up or the codes delete you from existence and any memory of you will cease to exist." He says. 'How did this happen?' You look at him with pleading eyes. "You have a special relationship with someone that wasn't supposed to happen. You are an outcode. Technically, you're not supposed to be apart of this world. And because of this, your existence is changing the original story line in such a way that the codes can't understand what's going on and is now trying to fix itself." He replies, sadly. You stare at Gaster with a flabbergasted look. You don't know what to think about anything you just heard. Small parts of your memory start to come back to you. You remember faces and names. Grillby, Dr. Firwillikins, Papyrus, Frisk, but the one that stood out to you the most was the name 'Sans'.

You start to lose yourself in the memories of your friends. A single tear falls from your eye but soon more follow. Gaster sighs as he approaches you slowly. "There could be a way to fix the code and keep you here," he says, your eyes widen with hopefulness. "The reason why you didn't heal after each reset was because you are an outcode but you did go back to your original spot after every reset. That could mean that the codes are trying to add you to itself." You couldn't help but sigh softly.

'I still have a chance,' you thought as you looked over the information you learned.

"There is not much we can do but wait and hope for the best." He continue, "but first, let's get you free." You look at him in confusion. He simply chuckles and moves him hands towards you. The moment he touches you your body relaxes. As he pulls away you notice that you can now move freely. "It won't last long in the void but at least you are able to move for the time being." He nods, pleased with your movements as you make your way towards him. "Now that's that problem is resolved, for now at least, we can move onto more important things." You tilt your head in confusion, this was all new to you so it was only natural that you don't understand. Gaster didn't seem to mind.

'If we can't do anything about the codes, what things do we need to do?' You thought as you stared at him.

"We can still make sure that everything is going smoothly." He stated. "We can not directly change the codes, but I can influence and guide the codes to get the results I desire." You nod and sit, to the best of you ability, next to Gaster. He pulls out a box full of ones and zeros out of thin air. You stare at it with curiosity as he looks through it. It seems like he understood what the numbers meant. You waited as he continues to scroll through the box. After what seemed like forever, he sighed. "It looks like it might take a while for this to work." He says. "From the looks of it, it is transferring your own coding into itself but at the rate it's going..." He turns to you, giving you a sad look. "You're physical body might die before the codes can finish." Your eyes widen as you feel tears begin to form. "Your physical body is weak due to the change it's code is going through," He starts to explain. "But with the injuries you sustained during the resets you might not make it." You look at you feet as you start to think about everything that happened. You just wanted to go back home.

Home, what a funny word.

Where was your home?

The answer was simple, home is where Sans and Papyrus are.

And you were going home.

YOU ARE FILLED WITH DETERMINATION.
