It was a pleasant evening, servers were roaming around the hall and offered drinks to everyone, while the live orchestral band played great harmony that satisfied the crowd's ears. Formally dressed guests were enjoying the exquisitely organized party, they chatted while others held their glass of fine wine and champagne, few were admiring the broad and magnificent garden of the residence, some enjoyed the traditional pastries.
"May I have everyone's attention please"
A notably elegant man spoke, he was wearing a tux just like any other gentleman that was present that night, and a very precious thing that held his wrist, his watch. A 1986 Rolex Submariner that was gifted to him by his fiancée during their anniversary. Beside him stood his very own partner and his only daughter, who held both of her parent's hands.Everyone turned their attention to him while he continued to speak.
"First, I would like to thank each and everyone of you, for celebrating my father in law's special day with us" he looked at his woman and placed his arm around her shoulder, " We actually have a surprise for you dad", he referred to Francisco as his father in law even though it's not official, yet , "My partner and I are very pleased to announce"
He didn't have the chance to finish what he was trying to say, when a gun shot was fired from an unidentified person that was blending within the crowd. In a swift, everyone started to panic and ran out of the hall terrified of being shot. The man who was just speaking fell lifeless on the floor, his fiancé trembled in shock as she held her man's bloody chest "Pa, stay with me", she said while tears began to race down her cheeks, their daughter saw her father's gun shot wound and cluelessly held the blood that was currently flowing from her father's body. The guards immediately stormed inside the venue and ensured Francisco's safety by dragging him out of the vicinity, other personnels ran for his daughter and her family but due to the crowd's commotion it took them moments to reach them. Not long after the first shot was fired, a second followed, the bullet pierced through the man's wife's neck making both of them lay on their own blood.
Their 6 year old daughter was conscious enough to know what was happening to her parents, she sat there crying for help while her father reached for his daughter's hand before closing his eyes.
"How 'bout we go get some ice cream hmm?"
A man picked up the little girl and tried to put a calm face despite the chaos, he tried to wipe her tears with his thumb.
"shhh papa and mama will be okay"
He tried to comfort the child and burried her face on his chest to prevent her to see what was happening as she continued to sob on his shoulder. He was about to leave when he saw a suspicious man dressed as anybody else and was calmly walking towards the exit door.
" 9 o'clock, black fedora!"
He called for the guards that were currently guiding the rushing guests. Unfortunately, the suspect heard him and hastily ran before anyone could get him.
The police and ambulance arrived at the scene but everything was already too late. The couple were already dead and the gunman was nowhere to found.
The yellow police line circled the scene and the clicks and flashes from the camera were constant.
