A date maybe

"Sinong Attorney Ferrero?!"

A man in an elegant dark blue suit slammed his fist on the table. Frustration and disappointment were imprinted on his face while he glared to the person he was talking to.

"Atty. George Ferrero po senator, may ari ng Ferrero-"

"Law firm?", the senator cut him and raised an eyebrow,

"Yes po senator"

The politician clenched his fist and slammed it again on his table upon hearing the confirmation,

"What's their relationship?" he immediately questioned,

"We're still confirming it senator, pero base sa mga kinililos ni Atty. Ferrero, mukhang magkasintahan po"

"Tawagin mo yung doctor", he coldly commanded, and in an instant, the person he was talking to exited his office.

The sun has risen and the birds started chirpting. The vehicles started to flood the highways of the city again and the closed shops opened. Some of the hospital staffs came to work still bringing their coffee, everyone was just starting their day but the doctors who were on call last night are ending it.

Leonor did a few stretches and grunts the moment she entered her office. She had a rough night and did not have the chance to sleep. She started to unbutton her blouse, since there were few blood splashes from the emergency patients during her shift.

Her upper clothing slid through her arms down to her waist before she successfully removed it leaving the upper part of her body exposed.

She was about to grab a shirt from her work bag when unexpextedly, someone opened the door.

"Oh my gosh!" she exclaimed and hastly sought for cover.

"Oh god sorry!"

Ferdinand immediately turned his back againts her. But he still got a glimpes of her smooth skin that was highlightened by the soft rays of the sun.
"Sorry, pasensya na, I didn't mean to-"

"It's fine" she cut him while wearing her shirt.

"Are you done?" He asked, still turning his back againts her while holding the door knob.

"Yeah, you can come in now"

He slowly turned to her and saw her messy yet hot look. 

"I'm really sorry, akala ko walang tao, pasensya-"

Leonor chuckled making him pause.

"Ferdie,its fine, really"

"Well" Ferdinand shrugged his shoulders "sabe mo"
He said before placing  a cup of coffee on her desk.
"Yan, I heard you pulled an all nighter"

"Thank you", she uttered lightly.

"Always welcome", he replied tucking his hands inside his pockets feeling proud, "I was wondering", he continued.

Leonor looked at him after talking a small sip "Hmm?",

Ferdinand was hesitant, his thoughts crumbled within his mind.
"Be a man Rodriguez, Say it!" he said at the back of his head.

There was a short pause, as his fingers started to fidget in his pockets and his foot constanly tapped againts the floor.

After gathering all of his manly courage, he finally spoke, breaking the building awkwardness between them.

"I was wondering if you are free this friday?"

Leonor paused, slowly lowering the coffee that she was holding while thinking her reply. She was considering about saying yes but a thought blocked that decision... Friday is her birthday.

"Damn" she thought.

"Why?" she queued with a sweet smile.

"Uhm- actually-ano" Ferdinand stammered, the lump that he just swallowed was perfectly visible.
"Maybe... we can go out...and... have a dinner perhaps?" 

His voice faltered, his heart was beating rapidly, the sweats on his neck made his collar drenched. Afraid of the possibility that he might be turned down.

"Just the two of us... a date maybe" He continued after Leonor spoke no words.
