Both of them just ran through the corridors of the hospital,passing through people that they came across to, their white coats bounced repeatedly as they dashed, slowly approaching the elevator. Dr. Leonor pressed the button persistently, but to no avail, the elevator was taking too slow.
"Punyeta", she uttered making the people around to look at her, she didn't gave a damn and proceeded to run for the stairs. Foot steps were rapidly heard, as they rushed skipping three stairs at a time, despite the pantings and outrage of breath, they emerged into the hallway that was leading to room 54, where the VIP was in.Romero hastily opened the door and to much of her surprise,
"Time of death: 11:46Aam".
She heard a man declared, he was about in his 40's, tall, with a dark hair, and looked so expensive in his outfit. She looked around, and saw a flat line, beside the defibrillator was a resident doctor, pale white, shaking, staring blankly at the patient's dead body,
"Are you the professor?", the man looked at her and asked while putting back his coat,
"Y-Yes, yes" she stammered, still processing that they just lost a VIP patient,
"Sorry I had to step in", he said while approaching her, "Those underdogs were panicking", the man pointed his thumb to the doctor and nurses that were present in the room"Perhaps, need nilang maturuan ulit, yung thorough sana para matanim talaga sa utak", he continued with a sarcastic face and walked out of the room.
"Excuse me, who are you? Care to introduce yourself?", Dr. Romero immediately followed him and asked,
He turned around, walked at her and flashed a snarky look,
"Dr.Ferdinand Rodriguez", he extended his hand, "And who is this beautiful doctor might be", he added and smiled,
"Dr.Leonor Romero", she answered coldly, and shook his hand, she didn't fell for Ferdinand's flattering. "Bago ka dito?", she asked,
"Well, technically yes", he nodded and looked at his watch,his eyes widened, "Apologies miss beautiful, I believe I have to go" he said, "Nice to meet you, see you later", he smiled sweetly and winked at her, before he turned around and hastened his steps.
