"Kumain kana?", Ferdinand asked as the elevator continued to descend,
"Hindi pa", Leonor replied with a little spirit in her voice,"Actually papunta kami ngayon, gusto mong sumama?", she invited.
A smile appeared on his lip, for some reason her invitation brought joy to him, it was a random happiness that hit him,
"Kung okay lang sa mga kasama mo", he looked at her hopeful,
"Goods lang?", she turned to Michael and Riza, both of them nodded,
"Syempre, okay lang", Riza confirmed,
"Yan, sama kana?", she asked him again,
"Yeah, sure", Ferdinand accepted in such excitement and tried his best to hide it.
"By the way, this is Dr. Riza Javier, she's my friend since high school", she introduced , refraining the awkward sensation that was forming.
"Hi nice to meet you doc",Ferdinand extended his hand to her,
"And this is Dr. Michael Noblefranca, my rival and a close friend",
"A close friend", it echoed in his mind, a hint of insecurity came to him, he didn't know why, it was again, a random feeling.
"Hi", Michael greeted and shook his hand, he just smiled at him in return,
"He's Dr. Ferdinand Rodriguez", she placed her hand on his shoulder, "Bago sya dito", Leonor added.
As they were starting a small talk,someone's phone rang, it was Ferdinand's, as any person would do, he answered the call and lowered his voice,
"Yes nasa hospital pa", he said to the person on the other line.
"Kilala mo?", Riza whispered to Michael as soft as she can,
"Hindi, ngayon ko lang din yan nakita", He replied also in a hushed manner,
"Yan ba tinutukoy nya kanina?", he added,
"Di ko knows, pero parang", Riza speculated. They looked at Leonor, who was cluelessly tapping her foot on the elevator floor, hands inside her white coat's pockets.
"Sa tingin mo?", Riza murmured to Michael, he was about to answer but their exchange of whispers were interrupted,
"Uhm", Rodriguez cut in, "I'm sorry guys but I believe I can't join you", he looked at them with an apologetic look, especially to Leonor, "Something urgent came", he continued,hoping for their understanding,
"Okay lang ito naman", Leonor replied with a smile to ease him. She can see in his face that he really wanted to have lunch with them and he is sorry for turning them down, he just looked at her with a remorse look, "Uy ano ba, okay lang talaga" she tapped his shoulder, "Ito naman parang big deal, may next time pa", she affixed in attempt to ease his feeling.
"Babawi ako next time promise, libre ko kahit san nyo gusto" he said to them, "Sorry talaga",Leonor just smiled at him, as the elevator door opened he bid simple good bye to Miko and Riza, " Babawi talaga ako promise", he said to Leonor while shooting him a look with assurance,
"Sige, sige, lakad na baka ma late ka", she smiled at him, he felt relieved by seeing her smile, it lifted his mood and he couldn't stop smiling as he walked towards the parking area.
"Sino yun?", Michael asked Leonor as they walked side by side,
"Si Dr. Rodriguez nga, sinabi ko yan kanina",
"Yeah I know, What I mean is, ano kayo?"
She stopped walking and looked at him, "Anong ano kami?",
"Alam mo yun, anong relasyon nyo, ganon", Riza clarified,
"Friends, magkaibigan" she answered,
"Ah, magkaibigan", Riza continued walking but was making faces to tease Leonor, "Baka magka-ibigan yan ha", she said, slightly raising her volume as she was a few meters away already from Noblefranca and Romero.
