"Nak"
Her father's deep voice echoed through her ears. It felt and looked so real for her that she could not even comprehend what was happening. She started to touch her dad's cheek and her mothers shoulders just to confirm that she wasn't seeing things, and yes, she wasn't.
"But.....how?", she softly asked while her tears began to roll,
Her mother smiled and held her cheek,
"You've grown so much anak",
Felicia's voice brought comfort to Leonor's being. Hearing her mother's voice once again was the pinnacle for her. She started to sob and tightly hugged both of her birth givers. It was such a perfect moment and Romero wished to stay like that forever... Not until.
A gun shot was heard.
Leonor's eyes widened, as Alfred, her father winced in pain and fell on the floor, it felt like what happened three decades ago was repeating.
"Ma pumasok ka po!",
She immediately told her mother, and attempted to drag her father's body inside her home, but everything happened so fast, another shot was fired and this time, her mother's body instantly fell lifeless. Blood was a pool and scattered.
"No, no, I won't lose both of you again", she hopelessly cried while she added pressure to her parent's gun shot wounds.
The glee that she felt was all washed down by horror, her hands were drenched in blood and the only thing that she thought that moment was saving her parents from the near cliff of death.
She pulled out her phone and was about to dial for an ambulance when a gun clicked beside her ear, she paused and slowly turned her head to see the culprit's face but all she saw was his gold ring. The anonymous man pulled the trigger before Leonor could even see his face. Her body fell beside her parent's, the last thing she remembered was seeing her mother's eyes.
"I'm sorry nak", The culprit uttered.
