"Can I see this?" George asked the lady while pointing on a ring that caught his eye. The lady then cautiously handed him the jewelry , which he gladly accepted. He starred at it for a minute, oh how happy his heart is at the moment. Unable to recover from the delight that he felt after hearing Leonor's yes to his long courtship.
"What came to you today? Bakit bigla kang nag aya?", Martin, Ferdinand's cousin asked.
"Nothing, I felt like it's been ages since we hung out" Ferdinand replied while absently walking through the crowded mall, scanning his eyes everywhere.
"True, puro ka trabaho. It's good that you're giving yourself a break. Ano bang trip mo?"
Ferdinand thought for a moment, then shrugged "Wala, I guess palakad lakad lang"
"Weird neto", Suddenly Martin thought of an idea. "Since nandito na tayo, lets go to Cartier"
He suddenly thought of Leonor. The brand reminded him of her. She's always wearing her Cartier Panthère necklace "Bakit may bibilhin ka?", Ferdie asked.
"Obviously, I'm gonna get my wife a bracelet, nag away kami, so peace offering"
It did not took them long to locate the store. Martin immediately asked for assistance from one of the staffs and proceeded to view the options.
"May pagbibigyan ka sir? Wife? Girlfriend?"
Ferdinand heard one of the lady staffs ask a man who was holding a ring, admiring it dearly. He observed him, he can see the anticipation and excitement in the man's face.
"Yes, I'm gonna propose", George replied, his face lit up with his thought.
For whatever reason, Ferdinand's feet voluntarily moved and found himself standing beside George, his hands in his pockets and looked at the rings that were elegantly displayed. His presence was unnoticed by George, thankfully.
"I'll take this" George said after handing the ring back to the lady.
"Ballerina Solitaire" He mindlessly uttered, "Excellent choice"
"Anything great for my lady" George proudly replied.
"Congrats" he extended his hand for a handshake, which George gladly accepted. "Thanks"
Little did he know, that the man he just congratulated was about to propose to the woman that captured his heart.
"Sir" the lady called, getting George's attention. "What's her ring size po?"
George paused,
what's her ring size again?
"Excuse me" he looked at both the lady and Ferdie while retrieving his phone from his pocket. He dialed a number, and after few rings, the person on the other line spoke.
"Hello?"
"Hi Riz, si George 'to"
Riza chuckled, "Alam ko, nagbabasa ako nang caller ID no. Whats up?"
"Kasama mo ba si Leonor?"
Ferdinand's ears perked up upon hearing the name. George then walked for a distance causing him not to hear the following conversation that the two had.
"Hindi, na sa OR ata s'ya ngayon. Why?"
"I'm gonna ask something but" George paused for a moment, "Don't tell her, please?"
"Okay, go ahead"
"What's her ring size?"
Riza became silent, these two are literally dropping bombs on her unannounced.
"Oh my god George!" She squealed on the other line, "Totoo na ba 'to?"
"Yes, di ko na papatagalin"
Riza then proceeded to tell George the right measurement, which he immediately relayed to the lady.
"Planning to marry someone already?" Martin tapped Ferdinand's shoulder.
"Oh, tapos kana?" he replied.
"Yep, peace offering secured" his cousin lifted a red paper bag.
"Congratulations sir"
It was the last thing that he heard before leaving the store with his cousin.
