Leonor sat up and gasped for air , her back was soaked in sweat and her palms were cold. Pulling herself together, she looked around and her gaze landed on the digital clock that was beside her television, 8:43 p.m. All of a sudden, a recollection of her dream came flooding to her, out of fear, she hastily stood up and examined the side  she remembered being shot at. Fortunately, there weren't any injury, nor blood, not a single scratch.

"Relax, it was just a dream", she patted both of her cheeks,

The lights were dimmed and the city noise was the only thing that can be heard inside her apartment.
Romero took few deep sighs before walking towards the kitchen for a water. She tried her best to calm herself despite the memory of the traumatic dream. It pained her to remember the image of her mother's eyes as she slowly fell for her death, she knew it wasn't real but the feeling that she had felt true, especially when she heard her parents' voice.

Several minutes have passed just by absently staring into the glass of water that she just poured while leaning on the kitchen counter, she grabbed her keys and went out, to avoid the eerie vibe that was swarming within her home.

"Hi", Ferdinand smiled to the lady that was currently taking his order, "Uhm, black coffee lang ", he continued, pulling his card out of his wallet, "And a slice of this please" ,

"Puro lang po ba sir? Walang creamer?", the barista replied.

"Yes", he nodded, "And no sugar, just black coffee", he gave her his card and went to sit at the corner to wait for his order.

He patiently sat and constantly tapped his finger on the table while humming the rhythm of the jazz that was playing in the background. He watched the people pass, through the glass walls of the coffee shop and found himself smiling whenever a couple walks by.

"Eto na po sir"

A guy placed a tray on his table with his order and also his receipt and card.

"Thank you", he muttered and smiled,

He took a sip of his coffee and pulled out his Ipad  to review some documents and reply to his emails. It was a busy evening, the shopkeepers bell kept ringing as people kept coming in.

"Good evening po doc!" The barista enthusiastically greeted the lady who just entered, "Matagal tagal rin kayong di naka balik",

"Oo nga, medjo busy sa work eh", She warmly smiled,

Ferdinand's ear got caught, the voice was familiar, he looked up and identified who it was.

"Ano sayo doc?", The barista asked,

"Usual lang", Leonor replied, "Eto rin", her finger thumped on the glass as she pointed to a Matcha cake.

He smiled upon seeing her, he placed his Ipad down and sat straight while watching her while she paid for the orders that she made.

"Thank you" Leonor uttered after receiving her receipt.

"Hatid ko nalang sa table mo doc"

"Sige sige, salamat ulit"

She was about to sit on a spot near the door but she felt an intense gaze coming from the corner. She looked at who it was and saw Rodriguez.

"I wouldn't mind sharing my table with you", He said just enough for her to hear him.

Leonor slowly approached him and sat across where he was seated.

"Usual ka ba dito?", she asked,

"No, first time ko actually", Ferdinand shook his head. She just nodded in reply.

"Something wrong?", he lowered his head and softly queued upon noticing her expressions,

"Wala", she forced a smile.

"Hmm, I know that's a lie", he smirked, "You're a terrible liar"

Leonor chucked after hearing his remark.

"Wala nga, nothing big", she smiled again, but this time it was genuine.

"Actually about last time", she continued and cleared her throat, "About what happened after nung welcome dinner, at dun sa lobby", she sighed and sympathetically looked at him, "I didn't had the chance to thank you"

"It's fine, no big deal", he responded and placed his hand beside hers on the table.
"Sa totoo lang", he looked at her hand and held it, "I was touched because you showed me that you trust me", his thumb  drew circles on her hand, "You were so fragile that time", His voice was soft as cloud, and his tone was bearing comfort.

Suddenly, their surroundings seemed to turn quite, only hearing their own heart beats, as their eyes locked with each other and feeling the warmth of each other's hand.

"Eto na po order n'yo doc"

Startled, Leonor immediately let go of his hand and faked a cough.

"Thank you", she awkwardly gave a smile.

The barista, turned to walked away but stopped before passing her and whispered: "Pogi nang date n'yo doc"

"Sira", she playfully slapped the barista's arm and chuckled.

"Ano sinabe n'ya?", Ferdinand raised an eyebrow, after seeing her reaction to the barista's whisper.

"Sabi n'ya pogi ka daw", she responded and picked up her fork.

"Do you agree?"

"Agree to?"

"Na pogi ako", feeling confident, he sat straight and adjusted his coat.

Leonor took a piece of her cake and said: "Try mo 'to, masarap", she motioned to feed him a bit.

Ferdinand sarcastically frowned, and spoke with a playful voice, "You're dodging my question",

"Tikman mo kasi!" she insisted still holding the fork near his mouth,

"Answer my question firs-"

She took the chance and gently shove the little piece of cake in his mouth.

"Diba masarap?", she wiggled her eyebrows

"Yeah masarap", he replied chortling while wiping the excess icing on the corner of his lip.

The mood between the two was light and cheerful, they continued chatting and chuckling sharing each other's cake while ignoring how much time has passed by.

"Long time no see"

A woman who was elegantly dressed approached their table, she was intimidating and with just a glance, people can tell that she was well off. She stood looking at the two, her red lipstick was on point but didn't really suit her and her high heels were as high as her pride.

"Oh, where are my manners"

She scoffed and extended her hand to Leonor,

"I'm Jessica Rivera.....Ferdinand's wife"
