Summary: You and Robby are biology partners and have to work on a project together. Could this project lead to something more? You sure as hell hope so.

Warnings: None

It's not that I didn't like biology, it's just that I didn't like working on projects. Especially with others. Especially with Robby Keene. It's not like I despised the guy, it's actually quite the opposite. I developed a crush on him towards the beginning of the year. He had been sitting pretty much right in front of me, yet neither of us had said a word to each other.

As soon as the bell rang, our teacher told the class that we were going to do a project. I didn't think anything of it until the teacher said he was assigning partners. Not soon after, the teacher called mine and Robby's name. My heart immediately flipped. How could I do a whole project with him if I couldn't even talk to him?

There was no use in arguing with the teacher seeing as he really didn't care. It's like the saying, 'you get what you get and you don't throw a fit'. Believe me, he's said that.

Once the teacher dismissed the class to start working with our partners, I felt my palms become sweaty and my face grow hot. Was I going to have to say something first or was Robby going to? I didn't have to think too long because soon Robby turned around in his chair.

"Hey", he said with a slight smile, "what should we do our project on?" he questioned. I just stared at the table, not knowing what to say. I already knew I was going to be a stuttering mess as soon as I opened my mouth. I could feel Robby's intense stare as I stayed silent.

Deciding to finally break the awkward silence I said, "Well, we need to build a habitat diorama", my eyes lifted to meet his as I continued, "Is there a habitat you wanted to do?"

I was beyond surprised that I didn't stutter once. He paused for a minute, seeming to think about what to do.

"I don't really have one in mind. Do you?", he asked. He continued to look at me, giving me his undivided attention. I felt like I was going to faint on the spot.

"I think we should do it on the coral reef seeing as there's different species and organisms that live there", I started, "Should we do that?", I finished with a question. The more we spoke, the more comfortable I felt around him. I don't know why I was so nervous.

He smiled and said, "Yeah, sure. That sounds great. Plus I think the coral reef is pretty cool". I smiled back and leaned my head down as I felt my cheeks heat up.

"Okay, cool", I started, "Whose house should we meet at?", I finished. There was a bit of a pause as Robby seemed to be contemplating. I didn't want him to feel uncomfortable so I said, "We could do it at my house. I live right down the road anyway, so it's probably closer to the school than yours".

Robby looked almost relieved that I had offered to go to my house. He smiled before replying, "Yeah, that works for me. Do you want to walk there after school?" I nodded and not long after, the bell rang.

As Robby and I walked down different ends of the hall, he turned around and shouted, "I'll meet you at the front of the school", he gave me one last smile then turned and continued walking.

People in the hallways started staring at me. I blushed and put my head down, continuing to my next class. I couldn't wait for school to be over.
