Summary: You and Hawk have Saturday detention.

Warnings: Slight swearing *UNEDITED*

Saturday.

When I think of Saturdays I think of sleeping in, hanging out with friends, literally anything besides school. This Saturday, however, I had no choice but to think of school. Matter of fact, I was on my way there now.

I looked at the clock on the car radio as I drove down the street, toward my impending doom. 7:43am, it read. An audible sigh escaped my lips as I realized that not only was I awake at such a time, but I was awake at such a time on the weekend.

As I came to a stop at a red light, I saw the school in the distance, indicating my inevitable arrival. Before I knew it, I was pulling into the school parking lot and making my way towards the building. Behind me I heard someone get out of a car, the sound of a door closing echoing in the quiet morning.

"I'll see you at 3, Eli. I love you", I heard a feminine voice say. I slightly turned my head to the side, catching a glimpse of Hawk.

"Bye mom, love you", he replied. I take it he wasn't aware of my presence seeing as he responded so casually, not his usually cockiness and "I'm too cool to tell my mom I love her" attitude. My unknown presence didn't last long as his eyes widened upon meeting my gaze, the sound of his mom driving away behind him.

His gaze hardened having realized I heard the exchange. He let out a slight scoff before walking ahead of me. I hadn't realize I stopped walking until Hawk's back came into view. I rolled my eyes before continuing my way into the school.

Seeing as Hawk and I were seemingly the first ones here, hopefully not the only ones, we were left walking in silence towards the library.

Alone.

Of course Hawk being Hawk, he had to disrupt the silence with a stupid remark.

"I can't believe I have to spend my Saturday morning at school", he scoffed, "because of you."

I felt his eyes one me at his last statement. Scoffing, I turned until my eyes met the side of his face, my legs still moving toward the library. "Whatever Moskowitz", I started with an angry tone, "maybe if you weren't such a dick, none of this would've happened."

Obviously not liking my response, he shook his head and stormed off. Not having the energy to walk any faster, I continued to trudge along the empty hallway. All too soon the library came into view, signaling I had arrived at my destination. I glanced at the clock above the door, 7:58am. I had only two minutes until detention started.

Walking into the library, I glanced around the seemingly empty library until I found an empty table towards the back. Setting my bag down, I plopped in the chair and looked at the cases full of books and the stupid motivational posters.

Who even has Saturday detention, I asked myself, What are we? The breakfast club?

Before I could continue questioning whoever's idea it was to have detention in the library, counselor Blatt walked in. Gaining my attention, I then took notice of the three other bodies in the room. Sitting at a table two rows in front of me was a kid I'd only seen a few times. He had black hair that was slicked back into a ponytail. I wasn't going to assume the unnamed boy was a stoner, but judging from the smell emanating from his direction, one could tell.

Sitting two tables from my right was Hawk with is head down, resting on his arms. Of course he would sit in the back of the room, like me. I looked toward the front of the room where counselor Blatt stood and noticed a small figure sitting at a table in the front row. My eyes widened upon noticing who it was. Bert? What the hell did Bert do to get Saturday detention?Seeing Bert gave me a sense of comfort. At least there was someone here I knew besides Hawk.
