Summary: You and Eli have been dating for a while. Long before he joined Cobra Kai. Long before he became Hawk. You didn't agree with him being in Cobra Kai, but how could you not support him, when he finally felt like he belonged.

When something happens, you're not sure you can support him anymore.

Warnings: Slight angst, swearing, violence

I sat on the sidewalk of the strip mall waiting for Eli to finish his training. The sun beat down on my face as I sat there for what seemed like hours but was only 45 minutes. There was no one else I would do this for. Only Eli. Despite not agreeing with him being in Cobra Kai, I couldn't not support him. What kind of girlfriend would I be?

When things weren't going so great for me, he was there. The least I can do is be there for him. After all, I do love him.

As I sat on the sidewalk, lost in thought, I didn't realize training had ended until I felt someone sit down next to me. Already knowing who it was I looked over and smiled.

"Hey babe", I said while looking over at him. He turned to me and even though I could tell he was exhausted and worn out, he smiled back.

"Hey beautiful", he replied back, a wide grin spread across his face. He leaned over and gave me a kiss on the lips. Just as I was about to ask how training was, a voice interrupted.

"Hey Hawk! You coming or what?", I looked over to see Tory standing with the rest of the dojo, waiting for response. Eli looked at me and gave me a little smile before looking back at them.

"Yeah, just give me a sec", he replied. I looked at him confused, waiting for him to explain.

"We were going to go to Golf N' Stuff and hangout. Y'know have some 'team bonding'", he replied, putting quotations around the team bonding. I looked at him hurt.

"But we were supposed to go on a date. Remember? Get dinner and then go watch a movie at my place", I responded clearly upset, "We haven't really spent time together or gone out on a date."

"C'mon Y/N", he started, "We can go out another time. They need me."

Sensing my frustration, he turned to fully face me and grabbed both my hands, looking me in the eyes. It almost felt like he was talking to a toddler. It probably looked that way too.

"Tell you what, after we hangout I can come by and we can watch whatever movie you want", he said somewhat nonchalantly. He thought he was some sort of genius when really he couldn't have been more oblivious.

"Don't bother", I started while beginning to stand up, him following suit, "I'll see you later."

As I began to walk away he reached out and grabbed my arm, stopping me from moving any further.

"Y/N, c'mon", he began, "don't be like that."

I stared at him blankly, not knowing what to say. How could my sweet Eli be such a dick? And who is he to tell me to "not be like that". Not wanting to say anything I might regret, I stared at him. I then looked behind him to see the rest of Cobra Kai standing there seemingly impatient and annoyed.

"You know what?", I started while trying to keep my voice level. I wanted to cry with how frustrated I was.

"Have fun with your friends 'Hawk'." My voice was firm as I said the last word. I never called him that, but now seemed appropriate. If that's who he wanted to be from now on, then so be it.

With that I turned away and began my walk back home. Leaving "Hawk" to stand there, alone. Well, not alone, but you know what I mean.

__________________________________________________________________________

I laid on Sam's bed ranting about what just happened. Sam laid beside me listening intently. Despite all of the drama with Miguel and Sam which means there's drama with Cobra Kai and Sam, she was my best friend. No matter what ,she was by my side and I was by hers. Of course this led to a couple of petty arguments between Eli and I, but she's my best friend. Always will be. Which leads me to now.

Eli and I's little "falling out", I guess you could call it happened a little over an hour ago leading me to lying on Sam's bed, stuffing my face with whatever junk was available. I vented to her about what happened with Eli and how I think Cobra Kai sucks. She vented to me about Miguel and how she also thinks Cobra Kai sucks. This was usually how our venting sessions went.

"Do you think he's just trying to keep up his 'Hawk' persona around them? Or do you think he's actually turning into a douchebag?", I asked Sam as I turned my head to face her.

She looked at me with a serious expression, "No, I think he's just trying to fit in and seem like he knows what he's doing", she replied, "but he is a douchebag", she laughed.

I looked over at her and we both laughed when we made eye contact.

"You bitch!", I said jokingly while I reached for a pillow to hit her with. She continued to laugh as she stood up and grabbed one as well. Laughter filled the room as we began to playfully hit each other back and forth.

Our laughs were soon cut short when Sam's phone rang. Both out of breath and tired, I laid back down and stared at the ceiling.

"They what?!", I heard Sam yell. Immediately I sat back up, confusion all over my face. "I'll be there soon. This ends tonight", she finished. As soon as she ended the call she looked down at her phone, silence filling the room.

Growing more confused and concerned, I stood up and walked around the bed until we were facing each other. She looked down at her phone as she typed quickly, seeming to not notice my presence.

"So...", I started, "Are you going to tell me what's going on or...?"

Sam looked up with anger in her eyes, startling me for a moment.

"Cobra Kai's at Chris' work", she started while beginning to walk towards the door, with me not too far behind. "They're going to get him fired."

"What are you going to do?" I asked. I watched as she began to put on her shoes, barely putting them on all the way before she walked outside.

"I'm going to finish this", she said with venom in her voice. Suddenly she stopped, almost as if she realized what was happening. She slowly turned until she was looking at me, sadness in her eyes. "I'm not going to ask you to come with me. I can't make you choose."

I looked at her with the same sadness in my eyes. Before the incident, I was in Miyagi-Do. I loved karate, but that all came crashing down when Tory got on the intercom. When Miguel fell over the balcony. When my best friend ended up in the hospital. When Eli turned into a person I could barely recognize.

Looking at my friend and the damage Cobra Kai has caused, I knew I needed to fight. I needed this to end. For Sam. For Miguel. For everyone whose lives were destroyed by Cobra Kai. For Eli, my Eli.

"You don't have to", I started while making my way towards her, "like you said, this ends tonight."
