Don't Blame Me; Robby Keene

Summary: You and Robby had been dating for a long time. Long before you both joined Cobra Kai. Despite him being in Miyagi-Do and you being in Cobra Kai, you both still stayed together. After all, that's what you do when you love someone. With tension beginning to build with the dojos, you and Robby wonder if staying together is going to work. Is it?

Warning: slight swearing, angst, This takes place during season five, so there might be some spoilers. I also changed the plot a little just for the story.

Laying down on the chair I heard people laughing and kids screaming. Spending my summer at the water park wasn't ideal per se, but I couldn't complain. Not only was I hanging out with my friends, but I got to hangout with Robby. It didn't matter where I was or what I was doing, if Robby was there, so were I.

Not feeling like going in the water, I laid down letting the sun keep me warm. It was peaceful until I felt someone sit on the end of the chair.

"I knew you'd be over here", they said. I immediately smiled and sat up. Reaching my arms forward and pulling them into a hug.

"Hey Robby", I said, still smiling. My mood instantly brightened.

"Hey babe", he replied with a smile. He reached forward and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear, resting his hand on the side of my head. I smiled and leaned forward, planting a kiss on his lips. He moved his hand that was in my hair and cupped my cheek.

"Want to go for a swim?", he asked, his smile not leaving.

"Of course", I replied. He stood up and grabbed my hand, walking me over to where the lazy river was. We each got an inner tube and went in the river. As we floated around the river I looked to the side to see Robby already looking at me.

"What?", I asked with a slight chuckle. My cheeks heated up. I didn't know if it was from the heat or the way he was looking at me, but I'm guessing the latter.

"I just love you", he replied, reaching over and grabbing my hand. Now I definitely knew it was the latter.

"I love you too", I said back, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. We were cut out of our trance when we heard yelling coming from the side. Both of us looked over to see Hawk and Kenny getting in each other's faces. We could feel the tension from across the park.

In an instant we got up and made our way over to where the pair was. By this point, more members of Eagle Fang and Cobra Kai started to join. From the corner of my eye I saw Miguel approaching. This can't be good, I thought.

While I stood next to Kenny, Robby stood in front of him, facing Hawk.

"You need to back off", said Robby with a stern voice. His back was tense and his jaw set. I knew he was becoming more pissed by the second.

"Or what?", said Miguel as he moved to stand in front of Hawk. Oh great, I thought.

Hawk decided Eagle Fang and Cobra Kai should "race" down the slide. Whoever won got to stay at the park. Of course with most of the dojos being full of competitive teenage boys, they agreed. I just knew that no matter what, this was not going to end well.

After Hawk lost to Tory which was, in my opinion, an unfair race, things got even more heavy. Everyone from both dojos started yelling at each other and getting in everyone's faces. Robby and I stood to the side trying to de-escalate the situation. It didn't do much seeing as everyone hated each other with a passion. Even though I was in Cobra Kai, I couldn't understand why we couldn't go one day without trying to be civil.

The situation worsened as Robby and Miguel got in each other's faces. A lifeguard came over almost instantly and next thing we knew, we were all kicked out.

Leaving the waterpark, Robby and I walked side by side towards my car. We hadn't spoken a word since the situation happened.

"So, do you want to come over to my place?", I asked while looking over at him. He was silent and looked to be deep in thought. I placed my hand on his arm causing him to stop.

"Hello", I started, "what's wrong?"

He looked at me and sighed before continuing to walk. Now I knew he was ignoring me. Letting my frustration get the better of me, I ran forward until I was in front of him, causing him to stop. Reaching forward I placed both my hands on the side of his face. His eyes stayed on the ground.

"Robby", I said in a quiet voice, "What's wrong? Talk to me". He finally lifted his eyes to meet mine.

"I don't like how we can't do anything without there being an issue", he started, his voice serious, "It's not going to stop if you're in Cobra Kai".

"Excuse me?", I asked while removing my hands from his face, "Me being in Cobra Kai has nothing to do with this!"

He sighed and reached forward grabbing my hands that rested at my side.

"Let's face it Y/N, if you're in Cobra Kai this isn't going to work", he stated with a small voice, "I'm tired of all of the fighting, all of the negativity. I'm tired of not being able to spend time with my girlfriend without worrying if some of your Cobra Kai "buddies" are going to start something!", his voice became louder as continued his little rant.

"Are you kidding me?!", my voice was loud and I was pissed. I removed my hands from his and crossed them over my chest, "I'm not sure if you remember, but you were in Cobra Kai too". I was seeing red. I can't believe he was being such a hypocrite.

"You don't think I remember that? Why do you think I'm not there anymore?", he questioned loudly. He tried to catch my gaze, but I was looking anywhere but him. "Why can't you just leave? Like I did? You know I'll be here for you. I can help you", he said, his voice growing more quiet.

"I can't, Robby", I said with sadness in my voice, "not right now".

"Please, Y/N", he said sounding defeated, "I love you". With that he reached up and cupped my face in his hands. My arms uncrossed and I put my hands on his.

"I'm sorry, Robby", I said as tears began to fall from my eyes. Removing his hands from my face, I turned around and made my way to my car. As I started it, I forced myself not to look his way, for I knew I would cave. As I drove away I didn't miss the tears that fell from his eyes as I looked in the rearview mirror.

If only he knew, I thought.
