"B-Betty supposes Nii-cha told you something, Subaru?" Beatrice's slightly trembling voice said, her one hand holding Subaru's tightly and the other clenching the rope as if her life depended on it. Subaru nodded. "Yeah, he did." He answered. "It is what I have been devoting my life to, and I will continue to do so, no matter what." Subaru said, turning to Beatrice. "And of course, you're included too, Bea-ko." He said with a wink, and Beatrice let out her cute hmph, something that hadn't been heard for a while. "Betty had better be, in fact. It has been stressed enough times, Betty supposes, but still, if Betty's treatment is substandard compare to those two, you will have much to answer to-- hyaaaa!!!" Her words were cut short as the parachute gave a lurch, making the two feel as if their insides were trying to break free through their chests.

Laughing, Subaru gave her hand a squeeze. "I might seem unreliable most of the time, but when it comes to spoiling you, I guarantee you no one can do it better than me, haha." He said. Beatrice gave him a nod of approval but squealed again as the ocean wind blew by, making them swing again. "Na Bea-ko, what's wrong? What's with all these squeals? Weren't you the one who suggested we jump off the school building? Remember?" Subaru asked teasingly, and Beatrice, her hair rippling along the wind, turned to him, a crease between her brows. "T-That was different, Betty supposes! Betty was in control that time, in fact! Now it's only these strings and a thin cloth that prevent us from falling into the ocean, Betty supposes!" She replied, and Subaru laughed again. He held back the urge to tease her more and switched to the comforting mode.

"Ahaha, I guess you're right. To be honest Bea-ko," He said, looking at her earnestly and mustering all his acting skills to make himself sound scared. "I'm nervous as hell now. Like seriously nervous." He said, putting the 'seeing someone else more nervous than you will make you calm somehow' strategy into action. "Y-You are, Subaru?" She said, surprised. Subaru looked into her slightly widened eyes and nodded. "But you looked so excited back on the boat, Betty supposes."
"Well that was just me bluffing to look cool in front of Rem and Emilia-tan. And of course to tease you a bit." He said and put on an apologetic smile. Beatrice heaved a small sigh and took his hand with her other hand. "Feeling better now, Betty supposes?" She said, and Subaru nodded vigorously.

"A lot better! Bea-ko saiko!!! Now I feel like I can enjoy this for hours!! Thanks Bea-ko! I have nothing to fear now that you've encouraged me with your unwavering reliability!! With your immeasurable magical capability!! With your everlasting cuteness!! Now instead of screaming I want to yell B!! M!! T!!! BEA-KO!! MAJI!! TENSHIIII!!!" Subaru shouted, swinging his legs around. "Is Betty getting thanked or ridiculed... mattaku noyo..." Beatrice sighed and gave him a small smile, and Subaru knew that his plan had worked. They spent a few minutes enjoying the ocean view, and Subaru also spotted Ram and Hinata riding along their wake as he looked over his shoulder.

The parachute, all of a sudden, gave another lurch. This one, however, felt odd, because over the wind, Subaru seemed to have heard a sharp snap. Beatrice seemed to have noticed that, and she looked up over her shoulder at the parachute behind them. "Was I imagining things...?" Subaru thought, but the next second, the same sound reached his ears again, multiple times. "Uso daro?!?!?" He shouted, his mouth dropping open. It was indeed the strings snapping, now dangling in the air and getting blown behind by the wind. Beatrice's eyes widened at the horrifying scene, appearing to be temporarily stunned. "You've got to be shitting me...!!!" The words slipped out of Subaru's mouth as the situation continued to worsen.

Holes started appearing on the parachute as if it was getting cut open, but there was no way that the wind was that strong. Subaru's mouth fell even wider open as the hair on his neck all stood on end, frightened by what he was seeing, not realizing that Beatrice's grip on his hand was getting tighter and tighter. Just as another hole appeared, several birds flew out, screeching loudly as if they had no idea how they ended up getting caught in a parachute. "How the fu--" Subaru began to shout, but with yet another ominous lurch, one of the ropes connecting Subaru's seat to the bar snapped. "UWAAAA--" The curse turned into a genuine scream as Subaru momentarily experienced the sensation of floating in space, and the next second, he fell, only to be stopped for another moment because Beatrice had her grip on him.
