Chapter 8 : Modern Day Life Lesson Seven

A/N: HIIIIIIIII~~~~~~~ IT'S ME AGAIN!!!!! I'M BAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!! As you all know, the crappy school is getting a lot busier and I have many shitty tests and other dumb things to do, and I just don't have much time to write, and I am also writing another Bleach fiction at the same time so my time is basically divided into half. Okay enough of that. Here's chapter 6!!!! Please enjoy!!!

This time, Subaru didn't joke about school anymore. After breakfast, he started telling the girls about the system of school. From elementary schools to universities and graduate programs. "Whoa, this is a lot." Emilia said, frowning slightly at the new and unfamiliar information about the education system in Subaru's world.

"Well, you don't need to worry about things below senior high school. I'm a twelve grader now so, hopefully, you'll be in the same grade as me. But the problem is that after twelve grade we will go to colleges or universities, and the entrance exams are way harder than what we're doing now." Subaru said, frowning slightly as well. "I think it is best that you girls get in one of the tenth grade classes. The contents aren't so hard yet and you can get used to it and get on track easier there." Subaru looked down and held his chin, squeezing his cheeks.

"But if it really is like that we won't be in the same class as Subaru-kun, and Rem doesn't think this is a good idea." Rem said rather worriedly. "Ram doesn't think that would work either. Even though Barusu is a dumb idiot, he is still our reliance here." Ram said. "Thanks a lot, Nee-sama..." Subaru said half appreciatively, half sourly. "Betty doesn't care, in fact." Beatrice said, closing her eyes and folding her arms. "No one will disobey Betty, Betty supposes." She added.

"Yeah, we know that. But that's under the circumstance that magic is allowed." Subaru said as he turned and looked at her. Beatrice waved her hand, and Subaru got whipped across the face by an invisible whip. "How many times do I have to tell you that magic is not allowed in this world??" Subaru shouted, emphasizing the last seven words. "In this flat, well, I turn a blind eye to it, but outside, no! Absolutely no!" He said, crossing his arms before his chest, forming an X sign. "And I'm starting to change my mind about using magic in this place now!! You need to stop using it to hit me!!" Subaru shouted, holding his swollen cheek. "And how many times does Betty have to say that she doesn't care, in fact!" Beatrice retorted, also, like Subaru, putting much emphasis on the last few words.

"Beatric, let's just listen to Subaru, alright? After all magic doesn't really exist in this world. Using magic here is paradoxical to this world's principles." Emilia patted on Beatrice's shoulder softly, trying to calm her down. "Ohh, Lia, using big words. I'm so proud." Puck said with his arms folded, nodding. Beatrice, however, took no notice of her words. "Fine, I won't bother anymore!" Subaru said, raising his hands in defeat. Beatrice turned away from them and the smirk of triumph crept over her face. "Well, I wonder what they'd say and do once they discovered that there's someone who can actually use magic, or, to the understanding of people in my world, psychic powers." Subaru muttered to himself rather loudly and purposely.

"Maybe they'll be too afraid to tell, but there are always maniacs who love to risk their lives to get their hands on those who interest them. Maybe they'll have you captured and all cuffed up in a laboratory and your body will be dissected to help them find out why you can use those powers." Subaru continued to mutter. Beatrice's face was still turned, but she sat there quite steadily.

"There will be drills and hammers and knives and saws and electricity and all those terrible things." Subaru muttered with his face continuing darkening. "I remember a few years ago, there was a piece of news about a guy who claimed to have super powers. He said he had the ability to make objects move without touching them and read others' minds. But for some reasons he disappeared not long after he got on the news, and about a few months later he was discovered dead by a riverside's dumpster." Subaru got up.
