Chapter 94: Modern Day Life Graduation Part Eight

With Rem and Emilia's help, Subaru got up from the floor. After steadying himself, he turned around and pulled Kenichi up. His glasses were askew on his face but his overall appearance told Subaru, Emilia, Rem, and Naoko that he wasn't hurt. Fixing his glasses back straight and dusting his pants, Kenichi caught Subaru in his arm and rubbed him on the head. "I was gonna ambush you but you got the better of me, Subaru! Well done, you've surpassed your old man! Now I have nothing more to teach you...!" Kenichi said dramatically as he wiped away the nonexistent tears around the corner of his eyes. "Never mind that Dad no time for you guys now sorry!" Subaru shouted as he broke free from Kenichi's arm and ran back in the apartment with Emilia and Rem right behind him. "What's the matter?" Kenichi asked blankly, which Naoko returned with a shrug. The two exchanged looks and followed the three in, bringing the door shut.

"What the freak what the freak what the freak what the freak what the freak!!!!!" That was what Subaru, Rem, and Emilia saw when they came back to the living room, Hinata still freaking out. He kept staring at his own hands and Aki and Haruka's expressions were beyond shocked. Next to the panicking three were Beatrice and Ram, the former putting down the mirror in her hand on the table with a small frown and the latter still looking anxious. At the same moment, Kenichi and Naoko arrived at the living room too, and it was obvious that they were unsure about which group to talk to first. In the end, the two looked back to Subaru. Subaru looked back at them, thinking rapidly about what to say. He had decided to explain everything to them, but he had hope to do it privately, with just his parents and himself. But under the present chaos, it seemed that he needed to reveal the truth about everything to them now.

"Ah man... this isn't how I wanted to break the news to you..." Subaru said with a sigh. There was a tug on his shirt, and Subaru found Beatrice standing beside him, her expression serious. "Subaru, let's just calm everyone down first, Betty supposes. Roswaal is with us now, in fact." She said. "Ros-chi?! Now?!?!" Subaru blurted out, and Beatrice nodded, the expression on her face remained unchanged. Pulling himself together, Subaru clapped himself on the cheek twice and nodded back at Beatrice. "Hinata, calm down now, and you too, Aki, Haruka. It's alright, everything's fine, no one is hurt. But the situation requires us to sit down and talk, so let's do that, alright?" Subaru said, and Hinata finally stopped shouting. He didn't respond but clasped his hands together with his eyes shut, shuddering slightly, and he nodded. Taking a few deep breaths, Hinata opened his eyes, and Aki and Haruka appeared to have gathered themselves together too. "Oh, hi Subaru's Mom and Dad. Sorry about the ruckus. Something, uh, really unexpected occurred just now and it all caught us off guard." He said apologetically. "No worries, Natsuno-kun. We like it noisy here. But the noises just now felt rather strange. What happened?" Naoko said. "That's the thing. We don't know, but we're gonna figure it out. We have the brightest minds here." Subaru said, and with that, everyone, very cooperatively, gathered around the table where Beatrice and Ram were.

"Before we start the discussion, Mom, Dad, I need to tell you something. I'm very sorry we've been keeping some very serious secrets from you, but please understand that we did it out of the best interest for everyone." Subaru said. Kenichi and Naoko looked a bit taken aback and confused by Subaru's sudden confession, but they remained silent and listened on. "When I was gone, I didn't go to Finland, I got teleported to a parallel world, and I met the girls there. They saved my life and we became friends, and due to an accident, we all got sent back here, and that was last June. The girls are from a parallel world, and they can use magic, and somehow, Hinata just managed to use the same magic, and me getting blasted out the door and crashing into you was the result." Subaru said it all in one breath. He came to a pause to stop himself form suffocating, and the blank looks on his parents' faces told them that they heard but didn't understand a thing he was saying. "Ah, maybe this will make the whole explanation easier?" Puck said as he showed up in front of Kenichi, and the two shrieked and recoiled into the wall. "Ara, Subaru-kun, so you have decided to reveal the truth at last, ha-ven't you?" Roswaal's voice sounded from the mirror, and everyone except Subaru and the girls and Puck let out another yelp of surprise.
