Chapter 95: Modern Day Life Graduation Part Nine

A/N: Another chapter here!!! Can't believe we've got to part nine of the graduation! So close to 100 parts!!! Man that's crazy XD Anyways, things are gonna get interesting so no more talking here!! Please enjoy!!

The talking had come to an end, and it was time for action now. They were divided among several groups to make things more efficient. First was group Wind, with Ram and Hinata, and the second was group Water, with Rem and Haruka, and the third was group Earth, with Aki, Puck, and Emilia. Subaru and Beatrice together would be jumping from group to group to keep everything under control, and Kenichi and Naoko was given a task from Beatrice to get them a few bags of dirt so Aki could get some practice on actual soil once he unlocked the magic.

It was five minutes after Kenichi and Naoko set off to buy the dirt, and Subaru and Beatrice decided to start with Hinata. "Okay, Hinata, our friend whose head is already full of magic. Mind to tell us how you managed to pull off that magic trick??" Subaru started off with a chuckle, and Hinata put his hand under his chin, thinking hard. Meanwhile, Beatrice beckoned the others to come over so Aki and Haruka could get some possible helpful tips. "Hmmmm, I'm not too sure to be honest. I didn't even think that actually would work. I didn't have the faintest idea about mana flow or control or any of that. It was kinda like, uh, like a spontaneous reaction." Hinata said, snapping his fingers. "Spontaneous reaction from what?" Aki asked with a frown. "From... uh..." Hinata said, pausing and trying to find the right word to describe what he was experiencing back then.

"Okay maybe we should take it slower. Natsuno, what were you and Natsuki doing? You say magic duel?" Haruka asked, and Hinata and Subaru nodded. "Yeah, just your average imaginary battle. We started with Harry Potter spells but somehow ended up with Kido from Bleach—"
"Yes yes but how were you feeling, Natsuno?? You told us how you felt after you use it but what was it like at the moment before you used it??" Haruka pressed on impatiently, and Hinata pressed his thumb against his forehead, thinking harder. "I really can't think of anything specific... but if I have to say something I was imagining myself getting enclosed by Subaru's attack and trying to repel it... yeah basically I was just imagining really hard." Hinata said finally. "That's it? Just imagination? That's what made the magic work?" Aki asked incredulously.

"Well, that is to be expected, Betty supposes. After all, mana is intangible and unseeable, and to even begin with the most rudimentary understanding of mana circulation and regulation within oneself, it requires great imagination and concentration, in fact. So Natsuno-san is essentially taking those first steps properly, Betty supposes." Beatrice said. "But still, without any previous exposure to knowledge about mana and he still manages to make it work, that is very impressive, in fact." She added. "Ahaha, I guess my chuunibyou got me a good head start on this matter. My mind is so conditioned to the idea of magic and supernatural powers that it's ready to accept the existence of magic. I guess that's what makes me more adapted to magic??" He said, and Puck uttered a long "ah~~~" in realization.

"Another possibility is that he's been put under our magic on more occasions. That could make him more adapted to mana compared to you two as well." He said. "I have?!?!?!/He has?!?!?!" Hinata, Aki, and Haruka all shouted in surprise. "Yeah, sorry to break it to you like that. Actually you all have, now come to think of it, nyahaha. And he's only exposed one time more than you are if I'm not mistaken. You should have similar adaptabilities to mana given the exposures." Puck chuckled, and Emilia poked him in the cheek disapprovingly. "Mou, Puck, at times like this, you should be saying sorry, not laughing, you know?" Emilia said. "Gomen ne, Natusno-san, Kouyou-san, Tsuyumi-san. Hora, Puck, you should apologize properly too."
"Iya, it's fine, really." Aki said, waving her apology away. "Yeah it's cool. Plus we get to try out magic thanks to that. So no point apologizing for it, Emilia-san, Puck-san." Haruka said, smiling. "I appreciate your words, minna. However, Lia is right, and I give you my apology here." Puck said, clapping his small paws together, and they nodded back at him. "Alright, back to what we were doing. This is all new to you, so don't stress yourselves out too much. Let's just try and see how things go. Since Subaru's parents aren't back with the dirt yet, why don't we let him demonstrate again, and the young lady can try next?" Puck suggested, and Hinata agreed with a vigorous nod. "Alright. Show me what you've got!" Puck said, motioning everyone to clear out. They did so obediently, and Subaru and Beatrice went to his back to standby in case anything bad happened. "Okay!! Here goes!!" He shouted and shut his eyes, concentrating hard. "I'm not hurting anyone, I'm not hurting anyone, I'm just gonna make a surge of wind, just a surge of wind...!!" They heard him mutter, and then—
