KANE

"RELAX," I STOP her knee from bouncing, moving her hand away from her mouth to stop her teeth from biting the skin of her thumb, "Stop doing that."

"I can't," She groans, dropping her head, "I'm so nervous!" Smiling softly at the thoughtful girl in front of me, I pull her closer, wrapping an arm around her shoulder, and kissing the top of her head.

My sweet girl.

"Don't stress, Izzy," My voices comes out in a soft whisper, "Everything will work out." Hopefully it does. She filled me in on what happened early and me being surprised is a understatement.

Never expected that.

"I hope so." Izzy nuzzles her face in my chest, fingers softly tracing my back, sending shivers down my spine. Just her touch will have me on cloud nine.

"Marcus? Buddy?" He snaps his head up, a anxious look on his face, "Yeah?"

"We'll sort this out, yeah? Just relax." He nods at my words, sending me a forced, assuring smile before adverting his eyes to the kitchen island.

"I'm here!" He hollers, slamming the door behind him. Izzy sits up, sending me a nervous smile while Marcus looks like he would be anywhere but here.

Thomas walks in, eyeing us in a weird way, "Okay," He trails off, looking towards Marcus, "What did you tell 'em?"

Izzy scowls at his words, giving me a 'what the fuck is he up to' look. I can't answer, because I have no idea which game Thomas is playing.

Home or guests?

Clearing my throat, I cut in for Marcus, who seems to be glaring at Thomas' face, looking as if he's going to blow up any second, "He's told us nothing. We're all here 'cause we're wondering what's going on."

Izzy nods in agreement, adding, "And you're going to explain this shit about Jamie." I chuckle silently, rolling my eyes at her blunt words. Real smooth, Izzy.

"What she means is-"

"No," Marcus cuts me off, jaw clenched, "She's right. I want a explanation. No lies and no- no loopholes." By loopholes, I think he means ways to get out this conversation. I think?

"Look," He runs a hand through his blonde, shaggy, hair, taking the stool near Marcus, "Nothing happened with me and Jamie." Marcus scoffs, looking away from his boyfriend. "I'm being serious!"

"Then why did you agree to meet him?!" He snaps, eyes filled with anger, but you can see the obvious betrayal, "And why you decided to hide it from me?"

Thomas glances at me and Izzy, who is bouncing her knee non stop and twiddling with her fingers, before looking up, muttering under his breathe, "Can we talk, alone. So I can exp-."

"Whatever you wanna say to me, you can say in front of them." He nods towards us, chin held high and fire burning in his eyes. Thomas's jaw ticks, a soft sigh leaving his lips. Turning his head towards Izzy, he says,

"Don't you two have that thing you wanted to do?." Izzy furrows her brows, face projecting what I'm feeling. 'Cause what "thing" is he going on about. Izzy opens her mouth, barely any sound leaving it before Thomas interrupts her.

"Don't you, Iz." He throws her a pointed look, slyly jerking his head towards the stairs. Huh-oh, oh. This is his way of telling us indirectly to leave the room. Right. Of course. I knew that.

"What?" Confusion runs through Izzy's voice, it's painted so brightly on her face, I want to take a picture, but instead, I softly pinch her thigh under the table, widening my eyes and gesturing to the stairs, hoping she'll catch on.
