7. Are you safe with me?

Freya

Joel started to take steps towards me. Tuomas and Juuso, they didn't see him, they were so busy to talk about something. But I focused on him, maybe too much. I had no idea what he would do, what he would say. Something stupid probably.
"Hey, Joel. What's up?" Tuomas saw him, Joel stopped couple meters away from us. His kinda worried looking eyes were scanning me, it made me nervous so I looked away.
Joel looked nervous too.

"I.. uhm.. I'm leaving too, so I thought that we could leave by the same door opening." He clearly made an excuse, but I didn't mind. But I was so confused, what about his girl?
Tuomas nodded, and chuckled too.
"What about her?" He asked, pointing at Ruut quickly. Joel scratched his neck nervously.

"She.. wanted to stay for a while." Joel explained. I didn't really believe him, but Tuomas did.
So, we left by the same door opening.

We walked in to the elevator, and Tuomas pressed the button. Slowly those doors closed, I was leaning against the wall, Joel did the same across from me while Tuomas stood next to me.
Joel stared at me the whole time, I looked at him twice, and his gaze made me nervous again.
Why those eyes are always looking at me? Is he a mind reader? If he is, I'm sorry that he hears my stupid thoughts.
We walked out of the elevator, and Joel was walking behind me. Tuomas opened the door for me, I just gave him a small smile and finally the air hit my face.
I needed it more than anything.

"I think our paths are going to different ways by now." Tuomas said to Joel, he just lifted his other eyebrow up and nodded.
No.. I didn't want to go with Tuomas. I.. I think something would happen. I've been too nice to him for the rest of the night. I don't know why. My thoughts are just messed up. I'm not good at this.
Tuomas walked towards his car, but I just stood there with Joel while I stared at my feet.

"Freya said she would like to walk. So, I better check she gets home safely." Joel opened his mouth, and immediately I looked up at him. Confused.
Tuomas was silent, it scared me.
Me and Joel turned to look at him, and he only nodded. I think he was disappointed. He just hopped in to his car, and started to drive away. And we started a long walk with Joel, towards my home.

"Thank you.. really." I finally dared to open my mouth after five minutes.
"I saw you were uncomfortable.. but what the heck was going on?" He suddenly stopped, he was a bit mad, I saw it.
I stopped as well, and I just rolled my eyes and turned my back on him, trying to move on.
But he took my wrist and forced me to listen and stay, I gave him a strict look, so he let go of me.
"Nothing was going on. What is your problem?" I frowned madly. He did the same.

"My problem? Really? I think you have one. First you avoid Tuomas, then out of nowhere you are so nice to him and smile constantly." He chuckled.
I bit my teeth together and tried not to explode.

"Why you even care, honestly?" I asked pissed, his face changed more calm. But I wasn't any calmer.
I was mad to him. And to myself. Why I always mess up my life?
He didn't talk, he didn't have an explanation.
We both stood there silent. But I was ready to leave.
I don't need any man's help to get home safely.
I can protect myself.
"Go back to your girl." I said quietly, and I started to walk again. Away from him.

"She's not my girl." He told me right away, but I kept on walking. He sounded humble.

"And why I care?" I asked back, raising my voice because I was further away from him. My voice echoed around. It was pretty silent in here, no people around.

I was close to my home, I was tired and bored because of this long walk. I almost hummed the whole journey, just to entertain myself.
I took my key out of my bag, and at the same time I saw someone standing next to the building's door. He was leaning against the wall, black clothes on.
I didn't recognize him first, but when I got closer, he was familiar.
"Good. You're here." He smiled to me, I just watched him amused.
