Chapter 3 - The Fight

TW - Fighting, trauma,  and Panic Attacks

Chrissys pov -

I woke up this morning, to the sound of rocks hitting the window. I got up slowly making sure I did not wake up Eddie. I got into the hallway and from the hall way I saw Jason at the front window in the living room. I quickly ran back to Eddie.

"EDDIE!!!" I whisper shouted. He jolted up.

"What,WHAT??? Are you okay?" He asked concerned.

"No!!! Jason is here! I pointed to the sound of the rocks.

"Stay here." Eddie said firmly.

I may or may not have followed Eddie quietly anyways. When he got to the window he talked to Jason. "What do you want?" Eddie asked annoyed.

"I want you to get beat up until you bleed out!" Jason said. Eddie stood his ground, but I could see it in his eyes he was worried.

"Fine then. Meet me outside." Eddie said.

I heard some punches and shouting. When I got to the door I heard Jason call me a few terrible names and a few more punches. "Stay off of my property!" I heard Eddie shout.

Eddie walked in and went over to the couch. His nose got punched and there was blood coming out his nose. His hand looked bruised up and he was limping. "Oh my gosh! Are you okay?!" I said concerned as I rushed over towards him. He looked up at me with a sad expression on his face.

"Y-yeah I'm okay." He said. It was painfully obvious he was holding back his tears.

"You sure?" I said concerned.

"Yeah." He said as he forced a smile. I got up to get him a paper towel and some ice to put on his hand. His leg was spranged and his hand was bruised. Ouch.

After 20 minutes he made breakfast. I ate one peice of watermelon and surprisingly did not puke it back up. The whole day me and Eddie did not talk. By night fall once I was out of the bathroom, Eddie was already laying in bed. I couldn't tell if he was awake or not so I just got into the bed. Thats when I heard Eddie breathing heavy..

I was concerned so I tapped his shoulder. He turned around with a scared expression on his face. Confused I put my hand out to touch his shoulder and he backed into the corner on the bed. "Eddie, what's wrong?" I asked. He didn't respond. Then it hit me... Eddie was having a panic attack. I knew this because my sister has them frequently. "Eddie look at me okay?" I said. He looked up at me. "It's gonna be okay." I said scooting a little bit closer. The first thing I normally did to calm my sister down was give her a hug, but with Eddie I did something different. I reached out and cupped his face with one of my hands. I smiled at him. He started to cry and he moved over and hugged me. "It's okay Eddie." I said as I played with his hair.

He soon calmed down after about 5 minutes. He got up quickly and sat on the other side of me.. "I'm sorry." He said as he wiped his tears. "I have panic attacks sometimes and I was just having one because I was thinking about how Jason used to beat me up and this time I finally won but what if he comes back and what if-" I stopped him by hugging him.

"Eddie it's okay. You did nothing wrong. He's not coming back. I got you okay?" I said. I sat back up quickly realizing what I had just said. "Anyway uhm, I'm gonna go to sleep now goodnight." I said turning off the side table lamp.

I woke up the next morning and sat up. "Hey Ed-" I looked around but he was gone. "Eddie??" I asked again. No answer.

I ran down the hallway and into the kitchen. "Woah, you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah.. I just got confused and scared cause you were not there whenever I woke up." I said sheepishly.

He walked towards me and put his hand over his heart and his other hand up. "Well, Chrissy Cunningham, I promise to never leave the room until you are awake." He said with a smile. I laughed.

Then we both got ready. I got my blue jeans on and I also cut his Ozi Ozbourn shirt into a crop top. Then I put on my tennis shoes. He wore his normal outfit.

Then we got into his van and drove to school.
