Chapter 23 - Steve?

"Ed's come onnnnnnn, it's movie night!" I trailed on. I've been talking about this all day and now Eddie doesn't feel like going to the family video store because he doesn't feel like it.

"Fine, but I'm not staying as long as last time so you can talk with your so called "bestfriend" Steve." He mocked.

"What are you talking about?" I asked confused.

"Nothing let's just go." He stated as he grabbed his keys and started walking to the van.

I walked out and got in. The whole time there was an awkward silence. This was the first time that he hadn't put his hand on my thigh on the car ride there. I tried to hold his hand but he just brushed it off. I just thought he was having a bad day so I let it go for now.

We pulled up to Family Video and went inside. It was around 7 pm and the sun was setting. "Heyyy Robin!" I cheerfully stated as I hugged her.

"Heyy Chrissy, how's it going?" Robin said.

"Pretty good, I think Eddie is in a bit of a mood though." I whispered, she only nodded and we went separate ways as I walked over to the romance section.

"Hey Ed's what about this one?" I asked holding up a romance movie. He only nodded before walking over to his favorite horror section.

"Hey Chrissy." Steve said as he walked over to where I was standing.

"Hiii." I happily said as I looked for some more.

"Soo, I was thinking what if me and you hung out later with Robin and Nancy?" He asked.

"I'm sorry Steve, not today. Me and Eddie have our movie date." I said as I picked up my favorite romance movie.

"Well, why can't you just cancel this once. Eddie won't mind, besides this is the one day I have off pleaseeee." He begged.

"No Steve I'm sorry." I said as I started to walk towards the counter. Steve grabbed my wrist and pulled me into a kiss, I backed away emidiatly. "What the hell Steve!?" I shouted as I wiped my lips  off with the back of my hand. "What is wrong with you?!" Robin shouted at Steve.

I heard movies fall to the ground. I turned around and saw Eddie standing there wide eyed with tears on them. "No, no, no Eddie, this is not what it looks like!" I said in a calm voice as I walked over to him.

"You.... you." Eddie tried to talk but he was speechless.

"Steve get out of here." Robin stated as Steve walked out of the store mouthing a quick sorry to Robin and me. I glared at him before turning back around.. "Eddie??" I questioned worried as to he was no where to be found. "Robin did you see where Eddie went?" I said in a worried tone.

"No but his van is still here, maybe check the storage room." She suggested I quickly made my way to the storage room. I was going to walk out before I heard muffled sniffles and whimpers coming from behind one of the boxes.

"Eddie?" I questioned. I saw his little poof of hair pop up from behind one of the boxes. I walked over to find him dead. "EDDIE?!" I shouted. "ROBIN GET AN AMBULANCE." I shouted. His pulse was gone.

"Eddie! Please... I love you." I cried.

"Chrissy!" I heard my name being shouted.

"CHRISSY!" There it was again.. then I woke up.
