The painter was seated in front of her easel, a palette in her left hand and a paintbrush on her right. Her eyes are not on the relatively blank canvas but on her subject. The same subject who actually requested for this painting which then will be used as an anniversary gift to his girlfriend.
She can't help but to be mesmerized by the striking feature of her subject, especially that now she can look at him from just a few meters away unlike before when she could just watch him from afar. She would always watch from afar while he would play football with his friends, or while he is being the gentlest boyfriend or be one of the crowd during his busking and enjoy his soulful voice.
She would always keep her distance and never thought that she'd ever get this chance of being with him in the same room. Him, who has been the subject of her paintings multiple times but only without his knowledge of it. The painter is actually secretly in love with her subject and is already thankful for being this near to him.
"Is there a problem?" Byungho asked after realizing that the painter was not moving at all. The painter shook her head and said, "Nothing is wrong Byunghossi. I am just trying to decide your best angle."
"My girlfriend would usually say that I look more manly when I show the right side of my face. Don't you agree, Arissi?" Byungho then proceeded with showing the right side of his face.
Ari nodded her head in agreement but still voiced out her thought, "But if we would use the right side of your face then you will be facing away from the window and I was originally planning to have you look out the window."
"Then we'll do what you originally planned," Byungho nonchalantly said.
Jungkook was sitting in one corner watching all that scene unfold. Taehyung was playing as Byungho and Leah as Ari. If he were to be asked which angle of Taehyung looks best then the answer is definitely, all of them.
Taehyung would look great in any angle and he could paint him in any angle as well but he understood the scene that he just watched. It is indeed hard to talk to the person you like especially if you are making sure that your feelings don't show.
He could empathize with Ari just watching how she is trying not to be awkward but still ended up having the stilted conversation with Byungho. Taehyung and his ex were actually doing a great job portraying their characters. He was able to witness the tension at the same time elation in the painter's face while what he saw on Taehyung's portrayal was obliviousness showing that he only saw Ari as being the painter, no sign of attraction or anything at all.
"What do you think, Kookie?" Seokjin sat next to Jungkook and tried to get his reaction. "I really think Byungho will not fall in love with Ari during their school days. I can see that Ari is in love with Byungho but at the same time she is content to see him being happy with his girlfriend. If I am in her shoes then I would ask Byungho to look directly at me while I'm painting him because for sure that is the only view that she hasn't seen, especially since all this time she is just watching him from a distance." Jungkook was saying all this while still watching the ongoing rehearsal.
"I don't know how you did it because I haven't given you the script but what you actually said is what really happened in the play." Seokjin doesn't know what to be amazed by. Is it the fact that Jungkook effortlessly guessed a portion of the play or the fact that he had the same thoughts as his mom?
"Oh, do you mean that I guessed it right, hyungie? That Ari would ask Byungho to face her while she's painting him?"
Seokjin nodded, "Yes, that is actually what happened in the end. Ari wanted to see Byungho's eyes clearly even just during that period of time. But for the rest of the story, I won't give you a spoiler even if you are my favorite person in this whole wide world."
Jungkook couldn't help but laugh and started teasing his brother-in-law, " I would tell that to Joonie hyung and for sure he will get jealous because he is not your favorite person."
"Don't you dare, Kookie. You know how possessive your brother could get. Or he could get dramatic and be whiny for how many days." Jungkook just continued laughing seeing the concerned face of his Seokjin hyung.
