Chapter 38

Around maybe the fourth day of training, I finally went to go update my costume, although I didn't want to update the look persay. I made my gloves a little more element proof and not just fireproof, and I made the hood the tiniest bit longer.

"Hey Izu, nice updates." I said to Izuku as I saw him walk back to the arena at the same time as me.

"Thanks Arisu, you got updates too?" He asked.

"Yeah, just small changes here and there." I shrugged. "Nothing too noticeable probably."

"Awe nice." He smiled and ran right back to go train.

"Arisu! What updates did you get?" I heard Kiri and Kaminari catch up to me.

"Ah, just some small things, not too noticeable."

"Like what?" Kiri edged me on.

"Made my gloves more element proof and my hood longer." I explained.

"What's the hood for?" Kaminari asked adjusting his new choker.

"Ah so I can do...this!" I flipped my hood up over my head and it covered my face casting a dark shadow across the top half.

"Woah, can you see?" He asked.

"I can see just fine, it's just a cast shadow." I laughed.

"What's it for?"

"Well because my eyes change colors depending on my quirk usage, I thought it'd be trickier to just shield my eyes so you couldn't tell before or after I went in time or something." I explained. "I was going to go the Aizawa goggles route but I decided it would have bothered me too much and hoods are more ominous." I flipped it down, then back up to give an example.  "Plus this was already part of my costume."

"HAH NAILED IT!" Katsuki yelling about his recent success interrupted us. "HEY! HEADS UP!"

I turned around and took my hood off to see a giant boulder heading towards All Might. Just as I was about to teleport him out of the way, Izuku jumped out of nowhere and kicked it, breaking it into pieces.

Well shit, that one's new.

"Are you okay, All Might?" The boy who was just flying asked as he slid to a halt.

"Yeah, thanks."  All Might smiled.

Kaminari, Kirishima and I started running up
to them. "Whoa, Midoriya!" Kaminari said first, "Where'd that crazy fire power come from?"

"I thought you were all about the punching"
Kirishima added, punching the air.

"Way to go Izu!" I cheered.

Izuku looked up with a surprised expression.
"Hey guys," he mumbled, not expecting a sudden reaction. "These iron soles were Hatsume's idea. They give me some extra power. I asked lida to teach me some moves to change my style. But going in this direction for now is just a stopgap. Nothing I can call an ultimate move just yet."

"I don't think you're giving your stopgap
enough credit here" All Might started.

"Nothing to call an ultimate move? You're finally figuring out your own style!" I added.

"She's right. It'll serve you well in the
licensing exam." All Might grinned patting the boy on the back.

"That was a close call, All Might." Aizawa said. "Better stay back for now."

"Right, apologies" All Might answered. "I'm
sorry, Bakugo!"

"Ich. Watch yourself, All Might!" Katsuki obnoxiously responded.
