Overdrive: A MHA x Male Reader Fanfic

Y/N vs Bakugo!

You are waiting in your waiting room thinking back to the past. You were thinking of every sparring session you had with Jason and the others, thinking of everything you learned and how to apply it to your next fight. Like with most of these fights, you could just blitz your opponent and win that way. But that wouldn't be fulfilling. Suddenly someone kicked open the door. You looked over to the culprit and saw that it was Bakugo. You didn't really wanna talk to him so you activated Erasure and got ready to launch a fireball at him. If he was scared then he didn't show it.

"Bring your best. I'm gonna beat you while your use your full power," he said and then walked away. The bastard didn't close the door. Oh well, you might as well leave and wait to be announced by Mic.

"Welcome to the final battle of the UA High School Sports Festival! In just a moment here, we'll see which first years come on top!" Mic announced with great enthusiasm.

On the giant TVs, it showed that you are fighting Bakugo. "Yes, it all comes down to this, folks! From the hero course, Y/N L/N! Versus his classmate, Katsuki Bakugo! Now begin!" Mic announced and you two started to fight.

You immediately sent out a huge ice attack that covered Bakugo. You know you didn't stop him with this attack, as you could hear his explosions. So you got a fire blast ready. The ice in front of you slowly started to crack until Bakugo blew a giant hole in the wall. The moment you saw Bakugo you attacked him with a huge fire blast. He took cover under some ice.

"You've got some pretty powerful attacks," Bakugo said. He then blasted after you

"Why thank you," you respond and run after him. The moment you got close you went out to blast him with fire, but he used an explosion to dodge out of the way. He then grabbed your head, flipped over you,  and tried to throw you. But the moment he landed, you grabbed his arm and did the same. He goes flying but stopped himself with a huge explosion. He then used that explosion to fly towards you. You dodge and send a huge ice wall on his left side and then his right, forcing him to go straight towards you.

He then blasts after you and you turned your fist into platinum and got ready to use a Platinum Barrage. The moment he got close you went to punch him.

"Platinum Barra-"

"Stun Grenade!"

"Nani?!" You say in confusion. You didn't think Bakugo would be able to midair. You're hit point blank with a huge explosion. You almost get sent flying out of the ring but use your fist to anchor yourself to the ground. You undo the platinum. But the moment you did that, you saw Bakugo using spinjustu or something. He was using his explosions to spin around really fast. He then launched a humongous blast at you, similar to the one used in Uraraka's match.

"Howitzer Impact!" Bakugo yelled and launched the attack. You quickly bit down on your hand and lightning struck you from the sky. You had activated your Titan transformation. The only difference is that it isn't a complete transformation, just the upper skeleton, and some muscles. This blocked the attack but you couldn't use your quirks for a while. Thankfully it isn't as long as your normal transformation, so instead of two minutes, it's only one minute.

"Bakugo shouldn't be able to fire off another blast like that," you thought to yourself. You rushed to Bakugo and started to fight him. He was using explosions against you, but they weren't big. Bakugo noticed you aren't using any quirks.

"Hey don't mock me by not fighting at 100%!" He yelled angrily at you.

"I can't use quirks after transforming into a Titan," you explain. You then grabbed him and threw him over your shoulder and into the ground. He quickly got back up and blasted your face. You were sent flying back, but not too far. Luckily you can use your quirks again because Bakugo was right in front of you. You activated Erasure and erased Bakugo's quirk. You smirked at this and went for the finishing blow.

"Platinum Barrage!" you tell and attack the defenseless Bakugo.

"Muda! Muda! Muda!" you yelled every time you punched him. Luckily for Bakugo, you can't keep up the platinum with Erasure activated. So you quickly punched im the gut and sent him flying out the ring and yelled, "Muda!"

You blinked and undid the Erasure. Surprisingly Bakugo wasn't knocked out. He looked at you angrily and threw a small hissy fit, but accepted his defeat.

"Bakugo is out of bounds! That means L/N is the winner!" Midnight announced. The crowd cheered for your victory. You looked up to where your family was and saw that they were all cheering for you. Well, Bruce was smiling at you but that's the best you're going to get.

"And, with that, the final match is officially over! The first-year champion of the UA Sports Festival is Y/N L/N from Class 1-A!" Mic announced.

Small timeskip:

Fireworks were going off to celebrate the end of the UA Sports Festival for the first years.

"The first-year students have completed all of the events for the UA sports festival. Now it's time to relax and enjoy the award ceremony," Midnight said as fireworks went off. A puff of smoke appear behind her as three pillars were raised from the ground. The tallest pillar was for first place, and you were on it. Bakugo was on the second tallest, which was for second. And finally, on the shortest stood Todoroki and Tokoyami, since they got third. Looking on towards the crowd of students in front of you, you couldn't help but to notice that Iida wasn't there, but Midnight interrupted your thought process.

"Now let's break out the hardware! Of course, there's only one person worthy of distributing the awards," Midnight said. In front of you, on top of the stands, stood All Might laughing. He then jumped down and said something, but Midnight was talking too and you couldn't hear either of them. When All Might landed he glared at her.

"So now that you're here All Might why don't you start the presentation?" Midnight asks him.

All Might took the medals that Midnight was holding. He then went to Tokoyami and Todoroki.

"Young Tokoyami, Young Todoroki. Congratulations. You both showed great strength put there," All Might said, putting the medals on them.

"Your words humble me, sir," Tokoyami said. Todoroki didn't say anything. All Might then hugged them and gave them advice. He then moved on to Bakugo, giving him advice after putting the medal on him, and tried to hug him. Finally, All Might moved on to you.

"Young L/N. Congratulations. You fought hard and earned the top spot. You did good, just try not to get cocky while fighting, it could cost you the battle," All Might said, and then put the medal on you. He went to hug you and you accepted it. You didn't want him fo hug you, you just hope this pissed AFO off.

"Here we are. The winners of this year's sports festival! But listen closely. Any of you first years could have ended up standing on these podiums. Think about what you've done today. You've challenged each other, learned, and climbed even closer toward your goals of being pros. I think the next generation of heroes is proving to be our most promising one yet! So I have only one more thing to say. I want to hear everyone yell it with me. You know what it is," All Might lectured. He then pointed to the sky and said, "Thank you for your hard work!"

"Plus Ultra!" yelled the crowd at the same time as All Might. Almost everybody hated the fact that he didn't say plus ultra. Boos were heard from the crowd.

Timeskip:

After the sports festival, every class went to their respective rooms. In Class 1-A, Aizawa giving the rundown about what was going to happen in the future.

"Nice work," Aizawa said. "You have the next two days of school of to recuperate. I'm sure the pros who watched the festival will wanna recruit some of you. We'll look over the draft forms and update you when you return. Get some rest. You still have a lot of training."

"Yes, sir!" you and most of Class 1-A said. You look over to Iida's empty seat and wonder why he's not here. You knew he was gone for family reasons, but other than that you didn't know. You'll ask Deku about it later and see if he knows anything. Anyway, it was time to head home now so you got your things and left.

Hello everyone, thanks for reading! This chapter took a while, and I'm sorry for that. Wasn't really feeling the mode as Impulse from Young Justice would say. Anyway, the next chapter (and maybe the one after that, depending on how I'm feeling) is going to be a side story that takes place during the two-day rest period. That's all I have to say. Peace!
