You frantically look for your name on the TV. You assumed you'd pass, but you wanted to be sure. Eventually, you find your name. You notice most of your classmates passed. The only ones who didn't were Todoroki and Bakugo. You don't know how you should feel about that, given that two of the top four strongest people in your class failed. Well, you could guess why Bakugo failed, but Todoroki was a mystery to you. Was it because he was almost beaten by Gang Orca? You don't know. You walk over to Mina. She was still searching for her name.
"Come on, come on," you heard her say.
"Yo Mina, you know if you passed?" you ask, looking at her name on the TV.
"No, I can't find my name," she said still searching. Then she finally found it and got excited. "Yeah! I passed!"
You smiled and said, "Congrats."
"Thanks. Did you pass?" she asked.
"Yeah, it took me a minute though," you said. You heard a thud and looked over, Mina did as well. It was that Inasa guy. He was apologizing to Todoroki because he believed he was the reason why he didn't pass. Todoroki said that he didn't have to apologize and that he actually helped him learn something. Mera then began speaking.
"So, next we'll give you a printout of your results. They include a breakdown of your scores, so you'll know exactly what areas you need to improve going forward. We lopped off points when you did something wrong. Fall below 50, and you were done. These demerits are itemized on your result forms, as you'll see, so I'd look at them," Mera said. A man in a suit came and handed you your results. You thanked him. You got a perfect 100. You took a picture and sent it to Bruce and the others.
"Let's see here," you mumbled to yourself. "Was able to heal injuries, quickly transported citizens to first aid, quickly was able to defeat a group of terrorists, made clones to continue to rescue people while fighting the boss..."
You kept mumbling to yourself when you heard Mina scream.
"WHAT?!" she yelled.
"Huh what?" you asked confused.
"You got 100?!" she asks, gaining the attention of the rest of the class. Some were jealous but congratulated you anyway. Mera got back on the mic and continued to talk.
"Anyway, moving forward, those of you who passed can exercise the same authority as pro heroes, but only during emergency situations. In other words, fighting villains, saving the victims of criminal acts or accidents. You may act using your best judgment, with no direct orders. Keep in mind that your every action from now on carries with it a deep responsibility toward bettering our society, and that the world is watching you. I'm sure you're aware that All Might, our greatest hero, no longer has his incredible power. One of the reasons crime in this country has been so low is due to his presence. With that deterrent gone, criminals are sure to become bolder and more widespread. Expect the balance we currently have in our world to be destroyed, and for things to change quickly. You young people will be the hope for our future. It's imperative that you become exemplary heroes. That your reputation grow to suppress crime as did his. Remember, the license you earned today is provisional, and you still have much work to do. I would like for you to think of yourselves as fledglings, and be even more diligent in your studies. And for those who fell short and did not pass. We don't have time for you to feel bitter about your loss. Instead, we offer you a chance to redeem yourselves. After you attend a three-month-long special course and pass an individual test, we plan to issue a provisional license to those of you who failed as well. In order for us to reach the idyllic future that I just spoke of, we're going to need as many good heroes on the streets as we can get. The first round was one to weed people out. But we would like to grow the 100 selected in that test as much as possible. That's why we watched you all until the end. So we could see for ourselves that you each have promise. That once your shortcomings are corrected, you have the potential to be as great as your fellow classmates. This special course will keep you busy, as it will run concurrently with your normal studies. You're welcome to retake the exam in April if you prefer to wait," Mera said, inspiring many in the crowd. With that, you all left.
You got your license. You can finally legally kick ass. After a short bus ride, Class 1-A made it back to the UA dorms. You all were hanging out, celebrating getting your provisional license. You notice Todoroki isn't really socializing, so you walk over to him.
"Hey Todoroki," you say.
"Hello, L/N," he responds.
"So tomorrow, me, Mina, Kyoka, and Kirishima were planning on hanging out tomorrow. I already have everything planned, for the most part. I was wondering if you wanted to come along?" you ask. He looks surprised.
"Why me?" he asks.
"Because I want to be better friends. And that's what friends do, they hang out. Also, we both have some family issues, so you might need a way to destress," you say. "I'm not forcing you, and it's no big deal if you don't want to."
"When would you guys be leaving?" he asks.
"Around 1:00 PM. Why?" you ask.
"I'll come," he says.
"You will?"
"Yes."
"Great! I'll text the others and let them know," you say. "I'm feeling pretty tired, so I'm gonna hit the hay. Have a good night."
"Night," he says. You then walk to the elevator and text Kyoka and the others, letting them know that Todoroki is joining. You then used your phone to buy passes for the five of you. After that, you arrived on your floor and entered your room.
