A Season for Encounters

You wake up this morning to find out that Bakugo and Deku got into a fight after dark, and now they are both under house arrest and have to do all the chores. Oh well. You notice Bakugo glance at you, you glance over to Deku and he's also looking at you. You use a telepathy quirk to talk to Deku.

"Does Bakugo know?" you ask, telepathically.

"Yeah, he does. I'll explain later," he responds. You sigh and continue on with your day. Once you and the rest of the class (sans Bakugo and Deku) get to the school, you find out that there's a meeting or some sort of announcement that Nezu wants to announce to the school. Iida is trying to keep everyone in line, then Sero pointed out he was the only one not in line. You then notice Monama.

"I heard a little rumor about Class 1-A," Monama says. "TWO PEOPLE! You had two people fail the licensing exam, you losers!"

You ignore him. What you do notice is Isshiki making his way toward the auditorium. He got a bit more muscle on him than last time. Monama said something about pulling ahead of us. You spoke up.

"You know, Monama, you can't win a competition when you are the only one competing," you say. He ignored you. You then hear something about a foreign exchange student. You once again speak up.

"Hey, you're from the U.S., right?" you ask her. She nods. You then begin to speak English.

"Must be weird learning a new language. Japanese is a tad difficult to learn, but I'm sure you'll do fine," you say. This shocked your classmates because none of them, except for Jiro and Yao-momo, has heard you speak English. The foreign exchange student answers.

"Thanks, I'm still learning. Luckily Monama's helping me," she says. He perks up hearing his name.

"I would be careful about what he says, he isn't the nicest all the time. Your name is Pony, right? Pony Tsunotori?" you ask and offer to shake your hand.

"Yep, and you're Y/N Wayne?" she says, shaking your hand, making Monama mad.

"Yep, although I prefer using my mother's name, L/N," you say. "If you ever need help with Japanese, let me know, anything for a fellow American."

"That sounds nice," she said. You both stop shaking hands. You then notice Shinso walk by. He's bulked up a bit too. Good to see people have been working on their weaknesses. After that, you made it to the assembly. Once everyone got there, Nezu began to speak.

"Hi there! It's the adorable small mammal you all know and love, the principal. You may notice that the fur I'm so proud of has deteriorated in quality. I haven't been taking care of it. This is something that can happen to humans, too. Even if you eat a balanced diet full of vitamins and minerals, you won't have a man of luscious locks. Unless you're getting lots of sleep. That's the secret!" Nezu said. You have several problems with his statement, but it doesn't really matter. Nezu continued.

"Disturbances in your normal resting patterns are terrible for your hair. My own sleep cycle has been upset by the incidents which I'm sure everyone here knows about already. We lost a pillar of hope. The ramifications of which have appeared faster than I could have ever imagined. And there will likely be even more chaos throughout our world in the near future. In particular, this will be most apparent to those of you studying in the hero course. You must approach extracurricular activities, like the hero work studies available to second and third years, with a greater sense of caution..." you began to space out. Kyoka got your attention.

"Hey, Y/N, has Tim ever mentioned work studies?" she asked.

"Uh, I think once or twice," you answered.

"Did he say what they were?"

"Umm... Maybe? Hero laws in the States are different from the ones here, and they vary state by state. I think in New Jeresy, vigiantism is legal, or since Batman is a founding member of the Justice League, he and his sidekicks got special licenses. Actually, I think Justice League have got licenses that allow them to do hero work in any allied UN countries," you answer.

"That... Doesn't answer my question," Kyoka said.

"Oh, sorry. I don't know if he was talking about the hero studies or when he was doing hero work in the States," you say. You basically stay zoned out until you hear Vlad King speak.

"Now, you'll hear from the extra-curricular guidance teacher. Please give Mr. Hound Dog your attention," Vlad says

"Yesterday," Hound Dog began to growl, "two students," Hound Dog then preceded to bark and growl. You figured he was talking about the fight between Bakugo and Deku. Vlad then confirmed what you thought was true and told everyone to be more respectful. Vlad King then dismissed the students, with the third years going first and the first years going last. You got back to class and Aizawa began to talk. He was saying how training will be more intense, but you were more focused on the work studies. By that, I mean you were paying attention to what he was saying. Tsu eventually asked, followed by a few others.

Aizawa explained that the work studies was basically like the internships, but bigger. Since we all had our licenses, we can do more and for longer periods. Aizawa said he'll explain more later, and let Mic in for English. And now you had a loud parakeet yelling at you.

School was over for the day so you all went back to the dorms. You were talking with Kyoka, Ojiro, and Hagakure.

"About those work studies," Kyoka said, "I wasn't scouted so I wonder if I'll be able to participate in one."

"Maybe we can go to the places we did our internships," Hagakure said.

"That's probably what will happen. I don't know about me or Iida though. Or Deku for that matter. We can't intern with Manual or Gran Torino since the got their teaching licenses suspended because of what happened with Stain. I might try to see if Nightwing or Red Hood will take me," you say.

"I hope I'll be able to do one," Ojiro said.

"I might try and see if Batman will take you, or maybe another leaguer will," you say.

"Leaguer?" Ojiro asks.

"Oh, that's what we call the members of the Justice League," you say.

"Could you really do that?" Ojiro asks.

"I make no promises, but I can try. I can't guarantee that one of the core members will take you though," you say. You then hear Deku talking to Iida.

"Um, Iida. What's a work-study?" Deku asks.

"Wouldn't you like to know weather boy," you tell him. Deku looks at you

"What?" he asks. You don't answer. You excuse yourself from the group and leave the dorms. You should probably ask Aizawa about tomorrow before it gets to late. After a short walk, you find him.

"Hey, Mr. Aizawa?" you ask, getting his attention.

"What is it L/N?" he asks.

"I and the others filled out these applications to leave the school grounds tomorrow. I wanted to hand them to you before I forget," you say.

"Is that all?" he asks and takes the papers. "I'll look at them later. For now, go back to the dorms."

"Yes, sir," you say and begin to walk back to the dorms.

Hello everybody, thanks for reading. So I tried to write this chapter and the next one at the same time. Basically, whenever I wasn't home, I'd work on the next chapter and when I was home, I'd work on this one. Yeah, that didn't work so well and I felt burnt out. Anyway, the next chapter is almost done so expect it soonish. Peace!
