San didn't know why but seeing wooyoung in his office every morning bothered him to bits.

You could call him petty or whatever you want, but he was really disappointed and annoyed by the fact that wooyoung got into his hard earned title after doing exactly nothing.

It was not fair and San went through enough pain to be exaggerating about this matter.

San sighed as he was reminded of the past. When he was 15 he'd ran away from home, his dad being abusive and toxic. He didn't accept San for who he really was, forcing down his expectations on him.

He came from a financial stable family and never had to worry about where the money came from, but as he grew older he started to get suspicious with his dads business, always finding weapons and other weird stuff he didn't know at the time.

He always talked about San taking over his business once he gets older, but San always had other dreams. But San wasn't a person to let others put him down or control his life. He was very true to himself and when his dad beat him up to shut him up, he never complied.

His mother was just like him a victim, too weak to protect and stand up for him and that was when San realized he didn't have a place in his own home. He knew running away when he was underage and still going to school wasn't a smart option, but he knew staying wasn't either.

He also knew his father was powerful enough to find him wherever he went, but to his surprise he never made the effort. He didn't know if he should have been worried about it or relived, but thinking about his obsession about his only son taking over his so great business, it definitely was weird.

He worked day and night to earn money and go to college later on. He wanted to be independent and able to protect himself. He swore to never trust someone to protect him and while he was working so hard for his title there was never time to let emotions in.

He kind of became an emotionless workaholic robot. As he always thought his dad might change his mind and get back at him, he lived in constant fear and worked more and harder to protect himself.

His titel as the best detective at such a young age was hard earned and cost him multiple sleepless nights, never having the chance to live his teenage life.

So seeing wooyoung just walking into his life like he was the best, without having to go through even the half of the things San had to go through, was very upsetting for him.

At least he assumed, he didn't go through such things. He didn't consider that a possibility as he watched wooyoung smile recklessly up at Jongho.

San rolled his eyes again before his head snapped upwards when he heard Hongjoong chuckle.

"Why're you so worked up about him? Relax, will you?" He lightly messaged his broad shoulders and gave him a cup of coffee.

San gave him a quick 'thank you' as he took a sip from his cup. He sighed into it and closed his eyes for a moment trying to ignore the obnoxious presence in this room.

Suddenly an officer made his way into the office.

"Detective Choi, we have a new case. We didn't want to bother your department with such a case, but this has actually happened quiet a few times and we have received multiple charges on this matter." He laid a envelope of different information and evidence on his desk and San picked it up peeking inside.

"A high schooler went missing?" San raised a brow, wooyoung also getting interested at the case.

"It has happened quiet a few times and it was always the same student. First, the kids didn't seem to care since it was for whatever reason normal for that kid to disappear and come back again. But this time it has been the longest the kid has been away so the teachers thought they should contact us, because even their parents didn't know about the kid's whereabouts."

San looked at the picture of the kid. It was a cute sixteen year old girl who had a bright smile and she looked very open and loud, not like a shy girl. He looked at the names of her parents and realized she had well known parents, so she was a rich kid.

"Maybe someone is trying to threaten her parents for money by using her." San mumbled in thought.

"I don't think so. It has happened quiet a few times and if it would've been for money he would do it one time and get the money and back off or something like that. Why would someone kidnapp her multiple times only asking now for money?" Wooyoung countered and everyone's attention was on him, Sans being the most intense.

He had the urge to roll his eyes yet again, but he couldn't shake of the fact that wooyoung might be right. It made sense, but he was a proud person.

"Then why would a sixteen year old girl with no harm disappear out of nowhere?" San commented as he raised his eyebrows at wooyoung staring him in the eyes as if to challenge him, Wooyoung also staring back, not backing down.

The others watched the tension unfold in front of them, sharing some knowing glances at each other.

"Well that we shall find out. But it's still the best to first sort out the least logical speculations." Wooyoung retorted calmly, loving the way san let out a small airy laugh in disbelief, his dimples on full display only to disappear a second later, replaced with a glare sent in his way.

"You're so cute to think we would be working on this case together." San smirked at him and watched as it was now wooyoungs time for his expression to drop.

"Actually, I think this is a great opportunity to include wooyoung into our team and giving him a great start." Hongjoong commented and San gave him the biggest glare he'd ever given him. If looks could kill, nobody wanted to know what would happen to Hongjoong.

"I think so, too, but you know me and Jongho are already working on a case and Hongjoong just finished one, so why don't you and Wooyoung work on this one together. I'm sure he would be great help." Yunho added, amused by San's dark expression on him. Oh, he definitely knew what they were trying to do.

Wooyoung didn't seem to have a problem with it, only smirking the whole time and nodding along as he observed San's expressions.

Honestly, he found it entertaining how San resented him and avoided him at all costs. He couldn't really relate, because he didn't think of himself as badly. 'How could he have something against someone as cute as me?' He thought while San was having a mental breakdown in front of him.

"Are you guys actually serious? You know damn well that I don't need any help with my cases. I'm not doing this with an amateur." He warned.

"What? Amateur? Don't you remember that night I saved your ass? I have enough knowledge to solve this case!" Wooyoung raged, offended by San's usage of words to describe him.

"Saved my ass?" San stood up, pissed off and snickered at him. The other shook their heads, already tired of their constant bickering or whatever you wanted to call this.

"Yeah, that's right! I saved your incompetent ass, who was about to fail his dumb plan!" He disrespected and San stood there with an open mouth, as well as the others.

"He's actually kind of scary..." the officer Par Seonghwa, who was still in the room, whispered to Hongjoong only getting a slight nod in return.

"Show some respect, will you? I'm your senior!" San furiously warned and pointed a finger at him.

Wooyoung scoffed and before he could retort back, San opened his mouth yet again.

"You know what. Fine. You're going to work on this case with me and I'm going to watch you fail miserably. More benefit for me." San challenged him, his eyebrows raised as if he was so sure he would fail.

It made Wooyoung's blood boil, but also got him excited to prove him wrong. He loved a challenge, even more if it meant for San to eat up his own words.

"We'll see about that, Detective Choi."
