Wooyoung wouldn't describe himself as an emotional person. He was independent, strong but even more avoidant. The moment he would realize negative emotions coming up, he would close off.

Never had he imagined to end up like this. He was a bright person, never listened to his dad and lived in the moment and life to the fullest. He enjoyed the little things in life and found fun in everything.

But life wasn't fair, so things were bound to change. Wooyoung was bound to change. All the obstacles life threw at him, made him a bit weaker, but all he could do was take it.

The only thing Wooyoung had, was his little brother Kyungmin. Even though he couldn't stay by his side and protect him from the world, he worked hard to support him and try to form a stable life for Kyungmin.

He couldn't take him with him, by his side. He didn't have enough money to take care of him and it hurt him so much every time he had to explain Kyungmin after visiting him why he couldn't come with him.

The disappointment in his eyes, the eyes he would make and the hurt gaze he would give him, was enough for Wooyoung to feel guilty like he could have done more than that.

Wooyoung felt useless. Like he was the one to blame for everything that happened. If only he had protected his family. If only he was a little more mature, so he could have been there for his father when he needed him instead of rebelling. If only he was stronger, so he could protect his brother.

That gave him another reason to pursue this career. He felt useless in his life so he tried to be helpful for people in need.

So when Kyungmin called him with a broken voice over the phone, these feelings were the only things, keeping him from breaking down.

Because even though these were hurtful feelings, it was the only thing that reminded him to fight. For his father and his brother. It was a reminder for him, that without him, his brother would be left by himself in this big cruel world.

"Kyungmin-ah..."

"Hyung please!" He sobbed through the phone sending a dagger straight through his heart.

"We talked about this, Kyungmin. I'll come by tomorrow morning, okay ? Where is your nanny?" He tried to sound strong, because he knew if he sounded weak to him, it would only make things harder for them.

He had to stay strong for Kyungmin.

He would always call him when he had nightmares, without permission sneaking out the phone from the nanny's there. Wooyoung guessed that he must have taken his genes.

"But Hyung.. I'm scared," he let out and his voice sounded so vulnerable, Wooyoung felt his own tears well up.

He had gone outside of the office so San wouldn't see him cry and it was already late, too late for him to visit Kyungmin.

"You're scared? There is no reason to be scared Kyungmin-ah," he softly let out a laugh to calm him down.

"Yes, there is! There are scary shadows by the window.." he continued crying and wooyoung let out a soft chuckle.

"You know what? They're only by the window because there are afraid of you! You're so strong, they know better than scare big Kyungmin away!" He told him in a loud story-teller like voice with fascination.

"r-really ?" Wooyoung heard the sobs quieting down a little and felt relive settling in.

"Yeah and you know what else? When you go to sleep, you will become even stronger and they won't even come to your windows!"

Kyungmin wasn't a little kid anymore, already visiting the grade school, but he knew the circumstances he lived him caused him to carry a certain innocence with him. He never had the chance to really learn from his parents, go out and play with his friends like other kids and he felt sorry for him. For not making it possible.

When he finally calmed him down he let out a sigh and entered the office again, after making sure there were no tears left. San was already packing his things and he watched him closely as he already began to pack up.

Choi San is one weird man, he thought. He would always observe things and look at him like he could read his every intention. That made him so hesitant with him. What if he could tell he was lying?

Wooyoung shook his head and made his way out, San following closely behind. He didn't know why, but San carried this knowing look on his face that made him uncomfortable so he tried to start a conversation.

"Let's visit Soo-mins family tomorrow. Their opinions and information can be really helpful to figure out her current mental state and true personality." He requested as they made their way through the halls, then entering the elevator.

"I doubt they will tell us anything useful." San answered coldly, pressing the button for the first floor.

"Why? They are her family, they should know how-"

"They're rich." San interrupted and starred with a blank expression at the elevator door.
He must have felt Wooyoung's confused gaze so he continued.

"There are only bothered by their image and money, the children are only a part of it. I bet they didn't even notice their absence." He coldly stated, which caused Wooyoung to frown.

"Why would you say that? That's just mere assumptions and prejudice!" Wooyoung felt annoyed by his act like he knew everything. He always threw everyone into the same bundle by categories, which was ridiculous if you asked him.

"The only one that is assuming, is you! By acting like I have no idea, what do you even know?" San angrily turned to him and took steps forward.

Wooyoung didn't back up, even when he was abruptly slammed to a wall nearby.

"Why are you getting so worked up about mere facts!" He retorted, analyzing San's expression.

His brows were furrowed into a deep frown and he seemed to be very irritated by him. His gaze was darkly settled on him. His sharp eyes, cat like eyes colored in dark chocolate, bitter like his personality, Wooyoung thought. His gaze wandered down to his slim, high nose down to his small soft lips. His face was all about sharpness, but a hint of a softness that he's hiding within his dark gazes.

It's like he's hiding a whole different him that even he himself doesn't know about and Wooyoung can't help but gravitate towards him.

"You don't know anything. Just trust me when I say they don't care. You wouldn't know better than me." He said in a warning tone and Wooyoung couldn't believe what he was hearing. He couldn't believe that San was acting like that about a mere opinion and he didn't understand why his reaction was so defensive.

He let out a snort, which gained him a dark glare. He continued to corner him against the wall, his frame much bigger than his making him feel small. His heart rate picked up for whatever reason and he couldn't continue looking into San's eyes.

"What are you doing?" He asked ridiculously and gave San the strongest look he could muster in this situation, but absolutely failing to do so when San lifted an eyebrow.

He leaned one arm against the wall beside him and stared into his eyes.

"You know what? You're very much getting on my nerves since you interfered in my life. What should I do with you," he said in thought and Wooyoung opened his mouth to defend himself.

"Interfere? You were refusing to accept me, I didn't do anything wrong." He commented annoyed and pushed San with his hands against his firm chest. San smirked at that and turned around as the elevator finally opened the door.

It arrived a whole while ago, but they were to busy doing whatever, noticed Wooyoung later with a reddening face. He followed San outside and watched him get onto his bike and made his way home.

Later that same night, he couldn't help but wonder what San is like. If he's really the tough man he gives himself out to be, or if there is an underlying sadness within hin, keeping him from showing his true emotions.

He was also occupied with the thoughts of his father's case and the informations he had found, only to stay awake the whole night with a wandering frustrated mind.
