It was dark already and all San managed to do was sit in the dark room, head empty, chest aching. His phone was vibrating nonstop beside him and he glanced every now and then at it, seeing Hongjoong, Yunho and Jongho calling. But what's the point in answering anyways? They were going to ask him where he is, what he had been up to, whether they found out anything about the doctor.
Or they already knew that Wooyoung was back by now. Maybe they were confused why he wasn't with him, why they were back already.
He could guess what they were going to ask, but not how he could possibly answer those questions. Because for the first time in his life, he let emotions take over his being. And even though now after he regretted everything, he couldn't bring himself to pick up the call and tell them the truth about Wooyoung.
They should know. It was dangerous to let private information slip to someone like his father. It was putting innocent people in danger.
But San didn't know whether it was because he was so shameful of the fact that he had let someone fool him, that he let emotions control him, that he was incapable of doing his work properly or that maybe deep down he understood Wooyoung. Maybe deep down he knew the struggle of being desperate, of not having a choice. And no matter how much he pretended that he was a cold hearted person, that he did not care about the feelings of others, he slowly came to realize that every time he was with Wooyoung, he didn't show anything else than emotions.
And instead of being ashamed of that, it felt freeing. Like a weight was being lifted off his shoulders and he could finally breath from the pressure that was being cold and indifferent. He learned to be that way for his own good, but perhaps it was destroying him more than anything else.
But he didn't know Wooyoung. At least now, he wasn't so sure about that anymore. He didn't know his intentions, his heart, his thoughts. He saw enough to let him in, but now that everything had been just a role he had to play in order to keep his brother safe, he didn't know anymore. He didn't know what was a lie and what was true anymore. He didn't know a thing about Wooyoung and he felt so so stupid.
Sitting on the cold floor of the hotel room for hours, he knew he should get going. There was no point in staying here, uselessly putting blame on himself. He didn't know whether Wooyoung had really gone already, if he had arrived, if Kyungmin was well.
And suddenly he felt a weight on his chest and he looked to the door Wooyoung left through. What must he have been feeling knowing that someone was threatening him with his brother. And he understood, he really did, but the shame and disappointment was way too strong to forgive Wooyoung.
He took a deep breath before standing up. He grabbed his bag he didn't even unpack and glanced one last time around the room before leaving.
If his father was really threatening Wooyoung, which he had no doubt of, he had to think about this without emotion involved. He knew how dangerous his father could be. And he knew his obsession of making San take over his business. But that time was over now, and he knew it, that's why he decided to ruin San's life instead.
Whatever Wooyoung's intentions might have been, he knows his father was dangerous. And he met Kyungmin once to know that he was just an innocent child to go through that. Now that he had told San about the truth, if that really was even the truth, he was sure Wooyoung wasn't safe anymore. His father would have no hesitation to end them both.
Despite all, he felt that knowledge settling a frightening emotion in his heart. He might be actually afraid of something happening to them and before he noticed, he was already jogging towards the nearest taxi towards the airport.
