Natalia's POV
I woke up with the man I love sleeping peacefully beside me. He reaches a whole new level of perfection when he thinks and is at peace. I get up slowly, careful not to wake Loki, and leave to my room to get ready. Just before I leave I snap my fingers and a small note appears on the pillow next to him. It'll tell him I left.
I come to my room and push open the door. I shut it softly and go to my closet to chose what to wear today. I run my hands along the many choices an stop at a blue and gold, floor-length dress. It has lace along my arms and up my neck and the dress then falls to the ground in a swirl of blue and gold. I pull my hair up in a braid and apply make-up. I slip in some gold shoes and leave.
I walk down the halls to the library and go inside. The rows upon rows of book stand tall above me. I decide to learn a bit more about the Realms. I find all kinds of books in so many languages, it makes my head spin.
I sit down and start to read. I especially enjoy Midgard. I do have some...problems... with some of its people, but they have so many wonderful things. Like holidays. One about dressing up to scare off evil spirits, another where colored powder is throw in the streets, and so many more. They don't have kings and queens like we do as well. They 'vote' in some places on leaders. I was reading up about something called 'trains' when I feel someone wrap their cool arms around me.
I shut my book, "Hello, Loki."
"Hello, love," He kisses the top of my head.
"What are we going to do today?" I ask.
"We just won a war, darling. Can't we take a day off?" He questions.
I give him a look, "You're king, you never have a day off."
"Fair enough. If you must know, we are planning a celebration for the victory yesterday," He tells me.
"Alright. I will collect Jane to help. Go tend to other things," I shoo him off as he chuckles.
"Love you, darling!" He calls.
"Love you too!" I yell back. I put back my books and make my way down to Jane's room. I knock.
Jane answers the door, "Oh! Hello Natalia! What can I do for you?"
"We are planning a celebration due to our victory. Would you mind helping out?" I ask.
"Of course! What do you need me to do?" Jane steps out of her room and shuts the door.
I start to walk to the library and Jane follows, "I need help making invitations."
"I think I could be of help," Jane says.
We walk in the library and are seated at a large table. I ask one of the servants for a large roll of paper. She bows and leaves to find some.
"So who all are we inviting?" Jane asks.
"Well, this is going to be one of the largest celebrations of history. So we have to think grand. All of Asgard is invited of course, but what about the Avengers?" I ask Jane. The servant comes back with the paper. I thank her.
"I think we should invite the Avengers. They deserve it," She says.
"Okay, let us start!"
I unroll the large amount of paper to write the names of guests.
"All ambassadors and council members are invited of course," I say and Jane makes a face.
"Why? They never did anything," She says.
"They would cause a war on their own if they where excluded," I say.
"Oh, am I invited?" She asks hopefully.
I laugh, "Of course! Thor would end me if I didn't!"
"Good. Now all the Avengers," She says and I write their names down.
"This will be a grand party!" I yell with excitement.
"Let's get to making the invitations," She says.
I ask the servants to bring the materials needed to make all the invitations. They leave and soon come back with the monstrous amount of paper we will require to do this. We set up to start. I make an example to copy. It is simple thick folded paper with a seal on the outside. The back is decorated with beautiful designs.
"This is different from Earth," Jane says while we start to make the invitations.
"Really? How so?" I ask.
"We would have regular paper with everything written in it, but we would them put it in another layer of paper on the outside," She explains.
"How peculiar," I remark.
After hours of writing as small as possible and many, many paper cuts later. We finished. I send off the invitations to all the higher-class with the servants to be delivered.
Some of the servants help us take all the invitations down to the stables and loaded up in saddle bags. I reach my horse and he neighs loudly when he sees me. I pet him and load on the saddle bag. I climb on his back and he rears up slightly.
"Whoa," I say and stroke his mane softly.
I ride him out of the stables and summon a cloak around me to keep warm. I throw up my hood to keep my hair back and we ride. We ride through the districts till we get at the main square.
I take off my hood as well does Jane. I climb off my Modiga softly. Many people stop and stare, knowing who Jane I are. We begin passing out invitations. A little girl runs up to me with a flower, I bend to her height.
"Hello princess," She says quietly.
"Hello darling, how are you today?" I ask.
"Alright, thank you for asking," She says and holds the yellow flower up to me. I take it softly.
"Thank you, what's your name?" I ask and pull an invitation out.
"Silvia," She says.
"Alright Silvia," I slip the flower in her hair and hand her an invitation, "take this to your parents for me."
She smiles brightly at me before running off.
We spend the rest of the afternoon handing out invitations to as many people as possible. We tell them to spread the word. I image there is going to be quite a crowd.
We ride back and put the horses in the stables. Jane and I walk through the halls talking.
"I'll go through the Bifrost with Thor to retrieve the Avengers. You meet us at the bridge with hourses. Alright?" She asks.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea. But, for now, let's worry about dinner." I say as we walk in to the dinning room.
We take our places and Loki smiles at me as the food is served. This is what I've always wanted.
