"Everything's healing like they should, Olivia. I want you to take it easy for another week or two. No heavy lifting of any kind, then we'll start physical therapy for your wrist two weeks from now once the cast is removed. You have any questions for me?"
The doctor detailed. Olivia went over her list of things to ask, especially for traveling. It's been an month since the accident happened. All of her bruises were gone, and cuts healed. Besides the wound deep inside her soul, she's doing well. She had to go back to New York sometime within this next week, Eric's been nothing but supportive while she's been healing, but it wasn't fair to leave him on his own for much longer. Kianna offered to road trip with her there with the boys. They've been begging to visit some of their friends, and she could use the company. She also missed her own bakery, so it's something she's been considering. She glanced to the empty plastic chair Spencer should be sitting in but wasn't. He opted out to come in with her. Another form of his new attitude. Every little thing added new tears to her already annihilated heart. She didn't understand any of this. Maybe it had been her lack of relationships that had her inept to deal with this. Or the fact that he's never endured loss like this before and she seemed to be an pro at it. It didn't change the fact that it was tearing her apart. Dr. B and Olivia exited toward the waiting room. When Spencer spotted him, he stood, heading their way.
"Everything good?" Concern filtered through.
"Olivia's doing just fine" He assured him.
"How you handling things son?"
"I'm good. Getting back to work has been for me" She wanted to laugh, he was far from fine. The doctor simply nodded.
"Good, if you notice you're not yourself we can get you in here to see someone" Spencer's eyes bucked to Liv, clicking his teeth together.
He thinks I said something, that's great.
"Preciate the offer, I'm good, really" Olivia mentally rolled her eyes with an sigh.
"Thanks again, Dr. B" Olivia cut in.
"I truly appreciate everything"
"Be safe on your trip" Spencer flinched.
"Trip?" If he were to talk to her, maybe he would know, but he didn't. He avoided her all the time now. Home when she goes to the bakery and working when she's home. If by some chance, he's around her, he keeps himself busy.
"Yeah, going to New York to meet with Eric" He shook his head violently releasing an inaudible laugh.
"Course you are" Dr. B shifted his weight.
"I'll leave you two time to talk. Be sure to make your appointment in an couple of weeks. I wanna check your wrist before starting PT"
Spencer turned on his heels, walking away from the scene, her following shortly after. They get in the truck, and he wasted no time getting on the road. He drove twenty minutes back to the house in silence. Thickness in the air between them was stifling. She was beginning to feel like they wasn't going to come out of this brewing fight unscathed. She didn't keep the trip from him for any reason other than him avoiding her all the time. She couldn't tell him something when he refused to acknowledge her. They pulled in the driveway, him shutting the car off. Neither of them moved to get out the car. After an few quiet minutes, Spencer turned to her.
"I don't know how to do this anymore" She heaved out an sigh, turning her body to look at him.
"Neither do I"
"Were you even going to tell me you were going back?"
"Would you have talked to me if I had?" She threw back.
