"Hold on, so the little girl made it then?"

Olivia asked opening up another bottle of wine. Malachi and her ended up eating then pilfering her stock of liquor. The girl she had watch her home while she was in Harlem didn't consume all of it and she was thankful for that. She couldn't pretend it didn't feel good to have some relaxation after everything she's had to endure these last few months. She's curled up on her couch in shorts and a baggy sweatshirt, her hair piled on top of her head messy. Luckily, Malachi didn't see this as an date otherwise she would be very embarrassed by her looks right now. An little normal after all the crazy felt nice.

"Yup, she did"

"That's insane! You told me she coded" She spoke while pouring more of the red into her glass.

"I'm saying, it was scary man, I can't even front on that. I don't know how we managed to do it but, we got the bleeding under control and her breathing back stable" He grabbed another beer flipping the top.

"It's crazy what our hearts are capable of"

"Tell me about it" She puffs.

"It also happens to be the easiest to break too" Malachi's eyes softened to hers, leaning over to grip her hand.

"Hey, it's also the strongest thing we have. I've witnessed hearts in real bad shape so much so that I didn't think they would recover from the damage, but they did"

She appreciated the effort he was giving, trying to inject hope into her present black heart, even if there wasn't an amount of hope that could heal an shattered soul. Rather then basking in this dark moment, she switched gears.

"Good to know" she winks while he chuckles.

"I've really missed you, Liv" She leans back, unsure of how to respond.

"Chi"

Truth was that she hasn't thought of him once, not since she started falling in love with Spencer. Once that happened, she stopped missing anything that had to do with New York. She was happy, fell in love with more than just Spencer. It was his world, his family, and it felt like home to her.

"No" He put his hand on hers.

"I know what your thinking, and it's not that. I'm not trying to move in on you like that. I know you're going through something. I'm not trying to push you in that direction"

"I just don't think I'll ever be close to...."

She pressed her hand against her own chest. As angry as she felt, the love for Spencer never went away, she felt it still and as long as she did, she couldn't think of another man.

"I didn't realize that's what tonight was"

"I get it, it wasn't supposed to be either. I knew you were sad, I was hungry and just figured that maybe you could use some company. I never intended to upset you" Malachi clarified his intentions.

"It's the alcohol, I shouldn't have said that"

"Loose lips sink ships" She jests.

"The beauty is in the eye of the beer holder" He retorts. She giggles.

"No such thing as too much wine, Chi"

"Drunk man's words are an sober man's thoughts"

Her heart plummets. She knows he didn't mean anything by this, but if this were true, then that would mean that everything Spencer had said to her was his true feelings. He said it all without an filter of sobriety. Her last shred of hope she held onto was now being disintegrated. She turned her body to hide the tears that were building.
