" Ayan kase, naparami 'di na tuloy maka lakad nang maayos" Leni scolded. The guys had too much to drink. Well, it was her birthday celebration after all.

"Sure ka ba Riz? Kaya mo yang mga yan?" , She asked Riza who was currently assisting Rafa out of the door. Roger had been silent for a minute already. Eyes closed while hugging one of her arm.

"Yeah, malapit lang naman mga bahay neto." Riza replied while holding the arms of both men.
"Iwan ko na rito si George" she added and gave Leni an exaggerated wink.

"Sira"

"Wop!" Rafa stumbled back inside,"Behave ha!" he drunkenly uttered, "Walang mag bi-birthday se—"

Before he could finish, Riza slapped a hand over his mouth. "Ang ingay mo, tulog na yung mga kapitbahay"

Leonor just chucked at the sight of her friends.

"Mauna na kami", Riza said, now half carrying both men again. She tilted her head towards the living room. "Asikasuhin mo na yung natitirang lasing". She gestured at George who was peacefully sleeping on the sofa.

Leni smiled. "Ingat kayo". She rubbed Roger's back, "Text kayo pag naka uwi na kayo".

Shortly after their footsteps faded, the comfortable silence greeted her. Her unit was already dimly lit with warm tones of light. She approached the sofa,  George slept soundly leaning his head on one of the arm rest. Slowly, she sat beside him, and guided his head to rest on her chest.

"Ang bango mo" She heard George's muffled remark after he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Nagising ata kita?" she chuckled  hugging him back.

"Konti", he replied, head still on her chest, eyes half opened.

Her fingers naturally folded their way to his hair. They stayed like that for a while, neither felt the need to move.

"George?", she continued absentmindedly playing his hair. "I've been thinking."

"hm?"

"Let's make it official"

In what felt like a lightning that jolted his whole being. George immediately sat up, hands still on her waist. "Leni". He forcefully closed his eyes, then opened them again as wide as he can. "Lasing pa talaga ata ako"

Leni chortled, "Bakit?"

George looked around, "Guni guni ko ata yon"

She couldn't help but laugh. She then cupped his face with both of her hand.

"Hindi", her thumb brushed lightly on his cheek. "Sabi ko, "let's make it official".

George stared at her for a few seconds. "Like...Tayo na?" he clarified, his heart beating fast.

She nodded. He paused.

"Tayo na?!"

"Oo nga, ang kulit"

George didn't waste any second and immediately gave her the warmest hug that she has ever received. He didn't even bothered to hide how emotional he became.

"I'm happy Lens, my heart is happy. Thank you"

Leni smiled and hugged him back. After a moment, she pulled away just enough to cup his face again.

"I love you, George" she professed.
His breath hitched for a second, "I love you too". He rested his forehead against hers, "Leonor".

In the midst of the coldness of the night, the cool breeze of the air. The waves brushed softly onto the shore. Bongbong quietly sat at the comfort of the balcony of their beach house. Lost in his thoughts and found solace in the twinkling starts above the vast sea.

"Lalim naman ng iniisip mo, Bongets"

His sister Imee, tapped him slightly and sneaked unto one of the bean bags that was placed near the balcony's veranda.

"Nothing much ate, hindi lang maka tulog" He replied, smiling weakly at his sibling.

"Hmm? Talaga ba?" Imee smirked, smelling something in her brother's aura. "Come on tell me." She adjusted on her seat and leaned her elbows on both of her knees while holding her cup of tea in between of her palms to keep them warm.

"I think I'm in love, ate"

Imee's ears perked up. It has been what? Three years since his divorce. Three years since love seemed to have no place in his life. Three years of nothing but work, career, and keeping up with his grandfather's demand and expectations.

"Ewan ko ba", he continued, "Minahal ko kaagad" he scoffed twitching his thumb. "Dati tinatawanan ko yang mga love at first sight na yan eh." He laughed quietly , almost embarrassed of himself. "Pero ngayon, naiintindihan ko na."

"It was as if my heart immediately warmed for her the moment we met."

Imee just listened, watching her brother's eyes lit up while talking. She felt relieved, after all, Bongbong opened a door again that they all thought would remain close.

Bongbong leaned on his chair and stared at the stars. "I reasoned with myself every night. Na ka trabaho ko lang s'ya or ano ba". He scoffed, "But every morning, I always found myself hoping I'd see her."

"I lost before I even realized I was fighting."

Realizing the weight of the words he was uttering, he placed both hands on his face and groaned. "Wala na, mahal ko na talaga."

"Huwag mong pigilan", Imee finally spoke. "Mahalin mo, Bong".

Bongbong glanced at his sister, then back to the stars. "I feel alive again, manang."

"Akala ko lagpas na ako sa kabanatang 'to. Tapos dumating s'ya. Tila may nasulat uli na bagong pahina."

"Who's this luck woman?". Imee asked.

Ferdinand looked at her, with all the certainty in his heart.

"Leonor Romero"

The moment Imee heard the woman's name. She felt the warmth drain from her face.
