The Promise

Part 47

The day before my math competition. I was home, resting because these last days I was all the time studying and working for it.

I didn't talk with Ivy the last two days. She had a lot for studying these days and I was busy with my project. I didn't told her nothing about the things that happened. So I decided to call her.
"Cara..." I heard happy voice on the other side of the line
"Ivy... I almost forgot your voice" I laughed
"Me too, I missed you so much"
"Yeah, me too. What's up?" I asked her
"Nothing special, but you have a news."
"News?" I asked her and I got really surprised
"Your math exam." she said
"You know?" I was more surprised. I haven't told her anything
"Yeah. I know everything, at least I thing I know" she laughed
"Michael told you?"
"No, Luke."
"Wow, Luke told you, that's weird. When did you talked with Luke?" I was really surprised. Luke told her, what the hell?
"No, he told me on Facebook chat."
"and from when you are chating with Luke?" I needed to ask her averything
"Two weeks ago we started and now we are spending our free time on chat."
"Wow, that was unexpectedly."
"Why? It's not so weird. He's nice guy."
"Oh, you are not thinking of..."
"Why not?" she interrupted me
"You and Luke, together?"
"Yeah, he looks very interested about me and we already have a moment so"
"Do you like him?"
"Kind of and I need a boyfriend"
"Boyfriend? That's too much for 5 minutes."
"Cara, we can try." she said that to me and I got a phone call on the other line
"Ivy we'll talk about this later, I got a phone call on the other line. Can we?"
"Ok, we'll talk about this on Skype. I need your help."
"Ok, bye" I said to her and I answer the call from the other line. It was unfamiliar number.
"Hello" I said
"Hey Cara. It's Jack"
"Oh, hello Mr. Styl... Oh Jack"
"Why is so hard to call me Jack, never mind. Listen, tomorrow you need to be ready in 8:00."
"Ok, we are going with?"
"With my car."
"Oh, ok. I'll be then"
"Bye, see you" he said and we finished the conversation
Where he got my number and with his car, but we have to drive only a half hour, because the other school where we needed to go was close. It's going to be fun, I guess

Next morning I woke up early and I got ready. I get out of my room and I went downstairs. My parents were there and they wish me good luck. They said that they are so proud of me, especially my mum. I get out and some unfamiliar car was waiting for me. I saw Mr. Styles getting out of it.
"Good morning Cara" he smiled to me
"Good morning Mr. Styles"
"Who is he?" he laughed
"Oh, Let's try again" I said and I smiled "Good morning Jack" I fix myself
"That's much better" he said and we get in the car
"So are you nervous?" he asked me while we were driving
"I wasn't and now I am." I said and I was really a little bit nervous
"No reason to be." he smiled
"I am really curious. Where did you get my number?"
"Oh please don't ask me. You'll hate me for that." he said to me
"Now, you must tell me" I laughed
"I took one of the students phones and I saw it."
"How did you mean you took it?" I asked curiously.
"She was listening to the music on the class and I said that no phones on my class and I took it."
"Oh my God, you are crazy. Did you return it to that student?"
"Of course." he laughed
"It so weird been here you know?"
"Why?" he asked me curiously
"You are my professor and don't you think it's a little bit awkward." I smiled
"Do I look like any professor?" he looked at me
"Not really" I said
"Do you look me like you look the other professors?" he was provoking me
"Um... what do you think?"
"Answering with a question a?"
"You are doing that too"
"and now is it still awkward?" he asked me
"What do you think?" I laughed. I didn't want to tell him immediately that I am most relaxed then ever.
"Again with the questions." he laughed "I think you are having the most relaxed time in you life" he said to me. OMG is he reading my thoughts. I just thought that. It can't be
"Why are you so sure?"
"Because you are laughing all the time and you forgot that I am you professor" he laughed
"Is it bad or good?" I asked him
"It's awesome." he looked at me and he smiled
We arrived and we get out of the car. I was freaking out, while we were getting in the school.
We get in the school and a few minutes later it was time for getting in the room where we needed to present out projects.
"Come on, don't be nervous, it's going to be great." he said to me before we get in
"I can't be calm." I said
"I am going to be in the audience, don't worry." he said and we get in

I was listening to the other students and then came my turn. I get up on the stage and I started presenting. Every moment I felt bad or to nervous I looked at Mr. Styles. He was smiling to me all the time. It was helping me.
I finished and all was good, I think. When the other students were ready too, we all get out of the room.
"You were amazing" Jack said to me when we get out
"You think?"
"I am sure." he smiled

We needed to wait one hour for the results.

When that hour past some woman get out and she started talking.
"Listen everyone. We have the results. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place are going to the international competition. These are the results" she said and she started saying the names of that students "4th place, Robert Smith. 3rd place, Bella Jones." she said that I heard that someone got really happy. "Now, 2nd place goes to Cara Wilson" I heard my name
"Cara" Jack looked at me and he was laughing, I was still in shock
"OMG, I made it" I screamed and I was really happy, so I hugged him immediately "Oh sorry" I said to him when I remembered who am I hugging
"Sorry about what? You made it Cara" he screamed to and he hugged me again

We get out of the school and I started jumping around. I was so happy. I was working on it so hard and know I made it.
"Let's go and celebrate this" he said and I said yes
