The Promise

Part 54

We get in front of the school. Nate parked the car and we all get out of it.
I get relaxed in the school. It was really great being in it again. In one moment I saw Ivy. She was with Calum and Ashton. They were sitting in front of one of the classrooms. I went to see them and Jack and Nate went to the room where I supposed to present my project.
"Hey everyone" I said to them and I hugged them all
"That's your new boyfriend?" Calum asked me immediately
"Nate is my cousin" I laughed "He used to date Ivy" I kinda kidding with them
"No, the other one" said Ashton
"Oh, he is my professor" I smiled to them "and by the way I am great, thanks for asking. I missed you too." I said to them because the didn't even asked me how I am or something.
"Oh, Cara sorry but we are surviving bad things since you broke up with Mike and we needed to ask you." said Calum and he made kinda sad face
"And guys, where is Mike?" Ivy asked them
"He won't come to school today. He don't want Cara to get upset" said Calum and he looked at me
"Calum let's not talk about that now, you know everything is his fault" I said to him
"Yeah, I know. Sorry." he said to me
"Cara, good luck" said Ivy to me and she hugged me
"Are you going to come and watch me?" I asked them
"Yeah of course" they said and we went to the room.

Before the beginning of the competition Jack came to me.
"Nervous?" he asked me
"No, not it all" I was confident in myself
"Oh, I like it. Good luck and don't worry you are going to be great"
"I so want to hug you right now" I needed his hug for support
"Me too" he made kinda sad face
It was time to go to the other contestants. Jack sat next to Nate and behind them were Ivy and the boys. When I was seeing them I was feeling more strong and everything. 

After two contestants, It was my turn. I get up and I started presenting my project. Everything was going great. Jack and Nate were all the time smiling to me, Ivy too. Calum and Ashton were having the most boring moments in their lives, they hate math. 

In one moment, someone walked throw the door. I was presenting and looking at Jack in that moment. I looked away and I saw Michael. He get in the room and he saw me. I looked him in that moment and I kinda puzzled and I have sinned a couple of words. I look away from him and I looked at Jack, he saw that something was wrong and he turned back. He saw Michael and then he looked at me and he made fake smile. I got really upset, but I didn't stop to present my project. 

I finally finished and I sat on my place. Then I started thinking about everything. Why is Michael here? He supposed not to come. Jack saw him and the worst part is that he saw that I got kinda upset when I saw him. I couldn't wait to get out of that room. I couldn't breath there. In one moment I turn back to see Jack. He wasn't so happy. He smiled to me when he saw that I am looking at him, I send him a kiss and I turn around again.

The last contestant finished and we all went outside. I get up and I went toward the door. In one moment Michael appeared in front of me
"Cara..." he said to me
"You can't stop lying" I said to him and I passed near him. I was kinda mad at him. He lied to me again, he said he is not coming to the school. I was out of the room and Jack and Nate were waiting for me there. Ivy was with them.
I went to them and I hugged Ivy and Nate and then I needed to hug Jack, but we couldn't do that
"Screw everything" Jack said and he hugged me "You were amazing" he whispered to me
"We need to wait one hour for the results. Lets go and sit outside" Jack said to us and we went outside
We sat on one of the benches and we talked about my appearance today. In one moment I heard that I get text on my phone. I took it and I saw that it was from Michael. I tried to act that everything's ok and that Luke was texting me. I read the text
I just wanted to see you and tell you that I am not bothering you anymore. You can live free and be happy. I'll try to do that too. I am sorry about everything Cara, we shouldn't end up like this.
I felt big pain in my chest when I red it. It over, now is definitely over.
"Cara, let's go it's time" Jack's voice interrupted my thoughts.
"oh, OK"

We get in the same room again and we waited a few minutes for the director of the math competitions thing. He came and he started talking
"We have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and the three places will get awards." he announced "Ok, then. 3rd place Chloe Jonson" he said "2nd place Lara Steward." he said and he waited for the applause to finish "Now, 1st place goes to... Martin Lopez" he said and in the moment he said that Jack hugged me
"Never mind, you were great anyway" said Ivy to me
"Yeah, don't worry about some stupid award" said Nate
"Guys calm down. I am not sad. That's it."
"That's my strong girl" Jack said and he smiled at me. 
I wasn't feeling bad about it. I wasn't disappointed.

We get out of the school and we went in Nate's house. Ivy came with us too. The good think was that I didn't see Michael anymore.
